The Blue Hose lost to Conference USA favorite UAB, 92-61, on the road last Wednesday. Crosby James led three Blue Hose double-figure scorers with 15 points. Terrell Ard, Jr. grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
 
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
James, who has scored in double-figures in all four games this season, leads the Blue Hose in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game. Owen McCormack who has tallied three double-digit scoring games this season averages 10.0 points per game. Jalen Forrest, who has tallied two double-figure scoring games off the bench this season, averages 9.0 points per game. Ard after recording a career-high 14 boards at UAB leads the Blue Hose grabbing 6.0 boards per game.
 
NOTES
REGULAR-SEASON TOURNAMENTS - The Blue Hose are playing in the Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach, Florida, November 21-22. Joining the Blue Hose in the Tournament field are Bucknell, which is Presbyterian's first-round opponent, UAlbany and Austin Peay. The Sunshine Slam is the 11th regular-season tournament that the Blue Hose have played in since moving to Division I in 2007-08.
 
Last November, Presbyterian defeated VMI, New Orleans, and Central Arkansas to go 3-0 in the University of New Orleans Classic. This was the first time in the Division I era that Presbyterian won three games during a regular-season tournament.

SAME STARTING FIVE - Presbyterian has used the same starting lineup in each of its first four games. Guards Marquis Barnett, Crosby James, Trevon Reddish-Rhone, and forwards Terrell Ard, Jr. and Owen McCormack have been the Blue Hose's starting lineup in each game this season.
 
COACH FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fourth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 52 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks that are coaching their alma maters.
 
OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS - This season, Presbyterian ranks 10th in the nation and first in the Big South averaging 15.8 offensive boards per game. The Blue Hose have recorded three double-figure offensive rebounds games (Carolina University - November 7, at East Carolina - November 12, and at UAB, November 16). The Blue Hose grabbed a season-high 18 offensive boards against Carolina University (November 7).
 
Last season, Presbyterian finished 24th in the nation and first in the Big South Conference in offensive rebounds per game, averaging 12.38 offensive boards per game.
 
STEALS AND TURNOVERS FORCED - Presbyterian's defense has forced their first three opponents to average 15.0 turnovers per game.
This year, Presbyterian is averaging 6.0 steals per game.
 
Last year, the Blue Hose averaged 7.9 steals per game which ranked first in the Big South and 49th in the NCAA last year.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-BUCKNELL SERIES
Monday's game marks the second-ever meeting between Presbyterian and Bucknell. The Bison defeated the Blue Hose, 71-47, in their previous meeting which came in a tournament at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia on November 22, 2010. Bucknell is a member of the Patriot League. The Blue Hose are 5-3 all-time against Patriot League opponents having played American, Army, Bucknell, and Navy in the program's Division I era. The last Patriot League opponent that the Blue Hose have played was Army which Presbyterian beat 71-64 on December 28, 2011.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
The Bison has wins over Lebanon Valley and Niagara this season. Bucknell averages 78.3 points per game while limiting their first four opponents to 62.3 points per game. As a team, Bucknell is shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Senior guard Xander Rice leads four double-figure scores averaging 16.5 points per game. Junior center Andre Screen averages 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. Sophomore guard Elvin Edmonds (10.8 points per game) and senior center Alex Timmerman (10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game) round out the Bison's double-figure scorers.
