The Presbyterian Blue Hose behind timely three-point shooting and a solid defensive performance gutted out a 69-63 win over the Elon Phoenix in front of a raucous Education Day crowd in the Templeton Center this past Thursday afternoon.
Owen McCormack scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Blue Hose. McCormack grabbed seven rebounds.
Marquis Barnett scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Houston Jones scored nine points on three three-point field goals off the bench.
Terrell Ard, Jr. scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
James Lovorn connected on two threes for six points.
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Hill leads the Blue Hose in scoring averaging 10.6 points per game.
Crosby James, who has scored in double-figures six times, is second on the team in scoring averaging 9.9 points per game. Barnett averages 9.5 points per game and a team-leading 5.3 rebounds per game.
Jalen Forrest is fourth on the team in scoring averaging 8.4 points per game. Ard is second on the team in rebounding averaging 4.9 boards per game. Ard averages 6.7 points per game.
Trevon Reddish-Rhone averages 7.3 points while dishing out a team-leading 2.6 assists per game. McCormack averages 7.6 points while connecting on 16 three-point field goals this season.

DOUBLE-FIGURE TREYS - The Blue Hose connected on a season-high 11 three-point field goals in the win over Elon on December 15. Presbyterian's 11 three-point field goals made is the most threes made by the Blue Hose since connecting on 11 threes in a win over Truett-McConnell on December 30, 2021.
BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – On November 28, Forrest was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week this week. Forrest was the ninth player in the program's history to garner Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS - This season, Presbyterian averages 11.33 offensive boards per game. The Blue Hose have recorded seven double-figure offensive rebounds games (Carolina University - November 7, at The Citadel - November 10, at East Carolina - November 12, at UAB, November 16, vs. Bucknell - November 21, VMI - November 29 and Elon - December 15). The Blue Hose grabbed a season-high 18 offensive boards against Carolina University.
SAME STARTING FIVE - Presbyterian has used the same starting lineup in each of its first 12 games. Guards Barnett, James, Reddish-Rhone, and forwards Ard, Jr., and McCormack have been the Blue Hose's starting lineup in every game this season.
DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS – Eight Presbyterian players have recorded at least one double-figure scoring game this season. Reddish-Rhone, McCormack, James, Forrest, Barnett, Hill, Ard, Jr., and Jones have all tallied at least one double-figure scoring game this season.
COACH FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fourth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 52 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks that are coaching their alma maters.
SCOUTING ALLEN
Presbyterian will be the second Division I opponent that Allen has played this season. The Yellow Jackets lost to UNCW, 104-55, on the road in their season-opening game on November 11. Senior forward Cameron Sembly leads Allen in scoring averaging 13.2 points per game and rebounding averaging 4.9 boards per game. Senior guard Darius Williams is second on the team in scoring averaging 11.0 points per game. Coach Keith Walker is in his second season as Allen's head coach.
