Blue Hose Rally Falls Short on Senior Day

Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team's fourth quarter rally came up short on Saturday as Radford spoiled the Blue Hose senior day with a 13-10 victory for the guests at Bailey Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following an early goal from Radford, PC rattled off back-to-back goals from Abby Edmisten and Ryann Doyle to take a 2-1 lead with 5:47 to play in the opening quarter. The Highlanders evened it up at two before Willow Hammond scored to give the Blue Hose a 3-2 lead. A late goal from Radford tied it at three after one quarter.
- Edmisten tallied her second goal of the game at the 12:44 mark of the second quarter to give PC the 4-3 advantage. Radford quickly evened it back at four before Ana Boothe scored with 6:44 to play to give PC a 5-4 lead. The game continued to go back and forth over the remainder of the half with Edmisten scoring her third goal of the game but a pair of guest goals made it 6-6 at the break.
- Radford came out the second half gates red-hot scoring all four goals in the third quarter to take a 10-6 lead to the final stanza.
- Radford pushed the lead to six, 12-6 with back-to-back goals early in the fourth quarter. Edmisten scored her fourth goal of the game to cut it to 12-7 with 10:37 to go in the game. The Highlanders pushed it back to a 13-7 game with 10:06 to play. The Blue Hose pushed back at Radford down the stretch with goals from Boothe, Madison Berg and Doyle before running out of time and dropping a 13-10 decision.
 
NOTABLES
- Edmisten tallied four goals in the defeat on Saturday for her ninth multi-goal game of the season. The Blue Hose junior has scored a team-high 38 goals throughout the 2022 season.
- Boothe recorded her fourth multi-goal contest with two goals. Doyle had her first game this season with multiple goals adding two.
- Edmisten totaled a team-high 11 shots as PC outshot Radford 30-25 in this afternoon's contest. Hammond added seven shots.
- Edmisten paced the Blue Hose with five draw controls, Doyle tallied three as PC had 14 compared to the Highlanders 13.
- Prior to Saturday's match, the Blue Hose honored their senior class of Carington Cantarella, Meredith Moore, Heidi Shafer, Madison Berg and Boothe.

The Blue Hose wrap up the 2022 regular season on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. start in Greenville battling Furman.
