GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (32-11, Big South: 17-6) swept the North Carolina A&T Aggies (13-30, Big South: 3-17) in a doubleheader on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Hose behind the pitching of
Jenna Greene and three RBIs apiece from
Jaiden Tweed and
Rebecca Clark shutout North Carolina A&T, 10-0, in game one. In game two, the Blue Hose topped the Aggies, 6-2, behind the hitting of Tweed (three hits, three RBIs) and
Haleigh Joyner (two hits, two RBIs) and the pitching of
Morgan Hess and
Haley Haselden.

GAME ONE
In the second inning, Hess scored the game's first run on Clark's single down the left field line. Tweed blasted a three-run home run over the left field wall scoring
Kelby Goodrum and Clark giving the Blue Hose a 4-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the Blue Hose tacked on another run when Clark, who reached base on a single through the left side of the infield, scored on a throwing error by North Carolina A&T. In the fifth inning, Presbyterian increased their lead to 10-0 behind five runs on five hits. Goodrum started the scoring for the Blue Hose after singling up the middle plating
Layna Johnson and
Kennedy Rhue. Then, Clark blasted a double to right field scoring Goodrum and Hess. Joyner singled to left field scoring
Bailey Watkins with the inning's fifth run. Â
Greene recorded 10 strikeouts in five innings while posting her ninth shutout of the season.
GAME TWO
In the first inning,
Lath Freeman's sacrifice fly to right field scored Tweed with the game's first run. In the bottom of the first inning, North Carolina A&T tied the score at one on a solo home run by Dezianna Patmon. In the second inning, the Blue Hose regained the lead for good when Tweed connected on a double to left field scoring Watkins and Clark. In the fourth inning, Presbyterian increased their lead to 4-1 when Joyner scored on Tweed's sacrifice fly to left field. In the fifth inning, the Blue Hose added two more runs on Joyner's single to center field that scored Hess and Rhue. In the bottom of the fifth inning, North Carolina A&T scored a run on a couple of hits.
Hess scattered six hits while allowing two runs with eight strikeouts over six innings to pick up the win. Haselden struck out the side in the seventh inning to close out the win for the Blue Hose.
