CLINTON, S.C. – Senior Eric Toth connected on his fifth homer of the season as the Presbyterian College baseball team suffered a 9-4 defeat in Thursday's series opener against High Point at the PC Baseball Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- High Point started fast with three in the opening half inning to take the early advantage on Friday evening.
- The Panthers kept the pressure up in the second with a four-run frame to take a 7-0 lead.
- The guests tallied single runs in the fifth and the sixth to push the advantage to 9-0.
- The Blue Hose pushed back against the Panthers in the sixth stringing together baserunners from Noah Lebron's single and a Kyle Decker walk before Toth connected on his fifth homer of the season to cut the Panthers' lead to 9-3.
- Brody Fahr added an RBI single in the seventh to cut the deficit to five, 9-4.
- The Blue Hose would threaten with a pair of baserunners in the ninth before High Point shut the door to secure Thursday's victory.
NOTABLES
- Lebron, Reeves, and Fahr each tallied two hits for PC as Fahr earned his 16th multi-hit game of the season.
- Toth's homer in the sixth was his third of league play and fifth overall for the Mobile, Ala. native.
- Senior Clark Dearman recorded his second straight outing with five strikeouts which matches a career-high for Dearman. He also tossed a season-high 4.1 innings of relief on Thursday.
- Sophomore Tanner Smith struck out three in two scoreless frames of relief.
