Baseball Drops Regular Season Finale on Saturday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team closed out the 2022 season on Saturday suffering a 10-2 defeat against High Point at the PC Baseball Complex. Senior Eric Toth recorded two hits to lead the offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
- PC got out to a quick start on Saturday with an RBI single from Toth to give the Blue Hose an early lead.
- High Point responded in the second with a three-run frame to jump out to the 3-1 lead. 
- The Panthers tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth to push the advantage to 5-1.
- HPU added five runs in the ninth to make it a 10-1 lead.
- PC plated a run in the home half of the ninth off an RBI single from Noah Lebron to lead to Saturday's 10-2 final.

NOTABLES
- Toth tallied two hits for his 20th multi-hit game of the season to lead the Blue Hose. He finished the season with 74 hits hitting .351 to pace the Blue Hose offense.
- With his 74 hits, Toth finished in a four-way tie for eighth in the PC single-season DI record book. 
- He also finishes fifth in the single-season DI record book with his season average.
- Senior Darien Rorabeck closed out his Blue Hose career with a career-high five innings on the mound on Saturday. 
- Jeremiah Boyd finished his Presbyterian career with a double off the wall in the ninth inning. He tied the team lead in league play with six doubles. 
- The game was delayed 85 minutes before first pitch on Saturday due to lightning in and around the Clinton area.
