CLINTON, S.C.  – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (33-13, Big South: 18-8) dropped both games of a doubleheader with 6-3 and 8-3 losses to the Big South leader USC Upstate Spartans (47-7, Big South: 21-5) at the PC Softball Complex on Friday afternoon.

GAME ONE
In the first inning, Presbyterian jumped out to an early 3-0 lead behind a two-run home run over the left field wall by
Lath Freeman and a solo home run over the left field by
Morgan Hess. USC Upstate tied the score at three on a three-run home run by Summer Johnson in the third inning. In the fourth inning, USC Upstate took the lead for good when Denver Lauer scored on Tiffany Domingue's single to left field. USC Upstate tacked on a run in the sixth and seventh innings.
GAME TWO
In the third inning, the Spartans scored three runs on two hits. USC Upstate increased their lead to 5-0 with a run in the fourth and fifth innings. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Presbyterian scored their first two runs when
Jaiden Tweed, who reached base on a walk, and Kaitlin Tucker, who reached base on a double to left field, scored on Freeman's single to center field, Then, the Blue Hose scored their third run when
Kelby Goodrum singled to center field scoring
Layna Johnson. USC Upstate closed out the scoring with a run in the sixth inning and two runs in the seventh inning.
