STARKVILLE, Miss. – In the final meeting of the season before Big South play appears in 10 days, the Presbyterian College women's soccer squad ventured to a Southeastern Conference venue for the second straight year on Sunday afternoon, facing the undefeated Mississippi State Bulldogs. In the end, the Blue Hose were unable to generate any offensive momentum in a 4-0 victory for MSU, their sixth shutout of 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
PC's defensive area of the field was a frequent spot for the Bulldog attackers on Sunday, as Mississippi State totaled 34 shots behind a whopping 18 corner kick opportunities. Presbyterian's goalkeeping duo of
Kelly Hall and
Mackenzie Azuero gathered 11 saves, with the former's starting role concluding after nearly 65 minutes.
With four different players finding the back of the net, Mississippi State struck twice in each period on three assists. Both Maggie Wadsworth and KK Pavatt secured a goal and an assist in the win, continuing their status as one of five SEC schools without a true loss on their resume to this point.

With the entirety of the team's nonconference schedule behind them, head coach
Brian Purcell and co. will enact on a 10-day period without competing again until the Big South opener on Sept. 21. In said league opener, the Blue Hose will keep to the road to visit the Longwood Lancers at 6:00 in Farmville, Virginia.
Since scooping up an overtime win over Longwood in 2019, PC has come up on the short end of the stick in consecutive meetings against the Lancers, each result by a single goal. Following the Big South curtain jerker with Longwood, Presbyterian will return home on Sept. 24 to host Radford at 4:00.
