Blue Hose Wrap Up Non-Conference in Spartanburg at Terrier Invite

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team wraps up it season-opening 12 match road swing at the Terrier Invite beginning on Friday with matches against Georgia State at 10 a.m. before battling S.C. State at 4 p.m… The Blue Hose wrap up the weekend on Saturday afternoon against Wofford with first serve set for 2 p.m… All three matches will be shown on ESPN+ from Spartanburg.

Last Time Out...
Junior setter Kinsey Bailey notched her first double-double of the season with 21 assists and 10 digs but the Presbyterian College volleyball team came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 decision against Appalachian State (19-25, 13-25, 17-25) in the final match of the Mountaineer Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Convocation Center.

Head to Head...
Georgia State holds the 5-3 edge in the all-time series with the Blue Hose with this being the second meeting of the 2022 season as PC and GSU met on Sept. 2 in Jacksonville, Fla.... PC holds a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series against S.C. State which includes a 3-0 sweep last September... Wofford has a 6-2 advantage head-to-head against PC with Saturday marking the first head-to-head meeting since 2019...

Scouting the Panthers..
Georgia State begins the weekend with a 3-6 mark after dropping a 3-1 decision to Clemson last time out in Tennessee. The Panthers will look to sweep the series against PC after taking a 3-1 victory in Jacksonville a few weeks ago. The Panthers are led by Julianna Truscott with 82 kills as Erin Wyatt has added 74 kills to the Panthers stat line. Jenna Brown leads GSU with 163 assists on the season. Livy Kowalkowski leads the Panthers on the defensive end with 169 digs. Georgia State has tallied wins over PC, Chattanooga and USC Upstate.

Scouting the Bulldogs...
South Carolina State enters the weekend winless in seven contests throughout the season. The Bulldogs have faced a pair of Big South opponents in CSU and UNC Asheville already this year. Semira Fields leads the SCSU with 37 kills on the year. Siela Avea paces the Bulldogs with 77 assists and Fields along with Rembert have a team-high 36 digs.

Scouting the Terriers...
The host Wofford begins the weekend with a 5-4 after sweeping the C-of-C Classic last time out against CCU, College of Charleston and Incarnate Word. Sarah Barham leads Wofford with 104 kills while Bella Zeman is close behind with 101 kills. Emily Hodsdon leads the Terriers with 231 assists and Victoria Hensley has totaled 130 helpers. Kaitlyn Brown has 108 digs on the defensive end and Barham has totaled a team-high 42 blocks.

Hewitt Moving Up Record Book...
Junior libero Anna Hewitt has totaled a team-high 91 digs on the season and has recorded 855 career digs in her time with the Blue Hose. The Alvaton, Ky. native sits ninth in the Blue Hose DI record book in digs as she is looking to become the sixth Blue Hose to reach the 1000+ dig milestone.

Rylee Moorhead ranks fourth in the league with 13 aces, while Abby Sparkman is tied for fifth with 12 and Anna Hewitt is tied for seventh with 11... Hailey Grocholski sits fifth in the conference with a .303 hitting percentage on the season... Kinsey Bailey sits sixth in the league with 147 assists... Hewitt also ranks ninth in the league with 91 digs averaging 3.25/set... As a team, the Blue Hose are second in the league with 55 service aces on the year...
