Get to Know Blue Hose Women's Basketball: Núria Cunill

During the offseason, the Presbyterian College women's basketball program will share Get to Know your Blue Hose profiles. Our next profile features junior forward Núria Cunill.

Cunill spent the past two seasons at Eastern Washington appearing in 47 games during her time at EWU. In November 2021, Cunill tallied a career-high 12 points and 14 rebounds against Evergreen State. Prior to going to EWU, Cunill attended the Institut Guillem de Bergueda. She led her team to a Primera Catalana League Championship in 2019 and averaged a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. In High School, she averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds and was selected as Player of the Year in the Preferent League.

  • Favorite Musician: Pop but like many kinds of music
  • Favorite Athlete: Ricky Rubio
  • Favorite Pro Sports Team: FC Barcelona
  • Toughest Thing about Being a Student-Athlete: The toughest part for me has been the language barrier. The other challenging part for me has been the physicality of the game in the US.
  • Jersey Number Have any meaning: 22 is my birthday
  • Why did you choose to come to PC: Coach Sharp gave me good vibes and talking to her felt like a natural fit for me.
  • One word to describe your style of play: Aggressive
  • Influential people in basketball career:  My family has been the most influential in my basketball career including my parents and my siblings.
  • Pregame Rituals: In pregame I always have to make my first and last layup of the warmups. I also need to have my day be very organized to limit the amount of stress.
