Presbyterian scored a Division I era school-record seven goals in the Blue Hose's  7-1 win over Southern Wesleyan at Martin Stadium last Monday. Chase Kennedy scored two goals and Lorenzo Nagy, Cheikh Atamao, David Citron, Nacho Gallego and Voro Rivera Peris each tallied a goal in the victory.

Presbyterian enters the VMI game with a 2-0 record on the season, which is the third time in the program's history that the Blue Hose have won their first two games of a season. In the Spring of 2021 and 2013 seasons, Presbyterian won their first two games. The Blue Hose have never begun a season 3-0.

Saturday's game will be the ninth meeting between Presbyterian and VMI. The Blue Hose lead the all-time series, 5-1-2. The Blue Hose defeated the Keydets, 1-0, in their last meeting which came at VMI last season, September 4, 2021. Presbyterian posted a 3-1 win over VMI in their last meeting in Clinton, S.C., on October 5, 2013.

The Keydets enter the game with a 0-1-1 record after a 2-2 tie at St. Peter's and a 3-1 loss at home to Longwood. Nathan Lam leads VMI in points with one goal and one assist. Zacharia Bouchachia and Jakub Mihulka have scored one goal apiece. VMI coach Nick Regan is in his first season as the Keydets head coach.
