Big South Conference Opener at Radford

The Presbyterian College Blue Hose men's soccer team begins Big South Conference play on the road at the Radford Highlanders on Saturday, September 24 at 2 p.m.

Presbyterian lost their first game of the season with a 4-0 setback at No. 1 Clemson this past Monday.

Blue Hose Stats
Lopez, who has two-game winning goals, leads the Blue Hose with three goals. Lorenzo Nagy, who also has two game-winning goals, and Chase Kennedy are tied for second on the team with two goals apiece. The Blue Hose have a balanced offensive attack with ten different players scoring goals this season. The Blue Hose lead the Big South Conference in goals with 14 (2.33 per game).

Big South Weekly Award
This week, freshman defender Vidar Ragnarsson was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week (September 19). Ragnarsson is the sixth different player in the program's history to claim Big South Player of the Week honors. He also was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Junior defender Connor Hudson was Big South Defensive Player of the Week (September 12). Hudson was the fifth player in the program's history to garner Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors. While, freshman goalkeeper Leo Stritter was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week for two straight weeks (September 6, September 12). He is the first player in the program's history to capture multiple Big South Freshman of the Week honors. A Presbyterian player has earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors the last three weeks.

Best Start  
Presbyterian won their first five games to set the program's Division I record for best start to the season at 5-0.

Presbyterian-Radford Series
Saturday's game between the 18th meeting between Presbyterian and Radford, who leads the all-time series, 9-5-3. Radf0ord defeated Presbyterian, 2-1, in their last meeting which came in Clinton, S.C. on October 13, 2021. The Blue Hose defeated Radford, 1-0, in the last meeting at Radford on March 28, 2021.
 
Scouting Radford
The Highlanders are 1-4-1 on the season and 1-1 at home. Radford defeated VMI, 2-0, at home on September 14 and they had a scoreless draw at Virginia Tech on September 2. The Highlanders have been outscored 15-4 this season. Four Radford players have scored a goal.
