The Presbyterian Blue Hose battled Big South Conference co-leader the Longwood Lancers to the very end before coming up just short with a 58-56 setback at the Templeton Center this past Saturday.
 
Trevon Reddish-Rhone led all scorers with 15 points while shooting 6-for-9 from the field. Jalen Forrest scored 12 points.

Forrest, who leads all freshmen in the Big South in scoring, is Presbyterian's leading scorer averaging 12.0 points per game. Crosby James, who has scored in double-figures ten times, is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.5 points per game. James has connected on a team-leading 29 three-point field goals made. Marquis Barnett averages 8.6 points per game and is tied for the team lead in rebounding, averaging 5.3 boards per game. Terrell Ard, Jr. is tied with Barnett for the team lead in rebounding, averaging 5.3 rebounds per game. Ard grabbed seven rebounds against Longwood this past Saturday. Ard averages 6.3 points per game. Reddish-Rhone averages 7.0 points while dishing out a team-leading 2.3 assists per game. Kobe Stewart averages 6.8 points while grabbing 4.1 rebounds per game. Owen McCormack averages 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while connecting on 28 three-point field goals.

FORREST THREE-TIME BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK - Forrest has been named Big South Freshman of the Week three times (November 28, January 9, and January 16).
 
BENCH POINTS - Presbyterian behind the double-figure scoring performances from Forrest, Stewart, Houston Jones, and Quadir Pettaway off the bench in the win over Allen (December 19, 2022), the Blue Hose scored a season-high 58 bench points. This marked the most bench points scored by the Blue Hose since tallying 67 bench points in a home win over UNC Asheville on March 5, 2019. In the 2018-19 season, the Blue Hose recorded four games with at least 51 bench points.

This season, Presbyterian has had 16 double-figure scoring games off the bench. The Blue Hose average 21.2 points per game off the bench this season.
 
OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS - This season, Presbyterian averages 11.43 offensive boards per game, which ranks the Blue Hose 81st in the nation in offensive rebounds per game. The Blue Hose have recorded 12 double-figure offensive rebounds games (Carolina University - November 7, at The Citadel - November 10, at East Carolina - November 12, at UAB, November 16, vs. Bucknell - November 21, VMI - November 29, Elon - December 15, Allen - December 19, Campbell - December 29, January 4, at Winthrop, Charleston Southern - January 7, and USC Upstate – January 18). The Blue Hose grabbed a season-high 20 offensive boards at Winthrop, on January 4, 2023.
 
COACH FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fourth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 52 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks that are coaching their alma maters.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-UNC ASHEVILLE SERIES
Wednesday's game marks the 37^th meeting between Presbyterian and UNC Asheville, who leads the all-time series 25-11. UNC Asheville has won the previous three games between the two teams including a 98-96 triple-overtime thriller at home in last season's regular-season finale on February 26, 2022.
