Blue Hose Open February With Road Trip to Radford

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team opens February on Wednesday with a road tilt at the Dedmon Center against Radford with tip set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

- The Blue Hose hit the road once again on Wednesday for a trip to Radford to battle the Highlanders from the Dedmon Center at 7 p.m... PC looks to get back in the win column following a 59-51 defeat on Saturday against Winthrop as the Highlanders come in off of a win on Saturday at home against USC Upstate 59-39.

- Freshman Aubrie Kierscht led the offense with 16 points as she connected on four threes, but the Presbyterian College women's basketball team suffered a 59-51 defeat on Saturday afternoon to Winthrop at the Winthrop Coliseum.

- The Presbyterian College women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and the power of 13 threes to push past Radford on Saturday afternoon by a score of 78-65 inside the Templeton Center. Tilda Sjökvist led the Blue Hose with 21 points, nine assists, and five rebounds as Aubrie Kierscht scored a career-high 17 points connecting on five threes in the victory.
 
Blue Hose Filling Up the Basket in League Play
- The Blue Hose have continued to the fill the basket up throughout league play as PC ranks second in the league in points/game with 69.7 ppg. PC has scored at least 66 points/game in eight of 10 league games with three games eclipsing the 80 point plateau. The Blue Hose have been led in league play by Brady who's averaging 13.8 points/game while freshman Kierscht sits at 12.3 points per game and Tilda Sjökvist has scored 10.1 ppg.
 
Scouting the Highlanders
- Radford enters Wednesday's tilt with a 9-12 record following a 20-point victory over USC Upstate on Saturday. The Highlanders are led by Ashlyn Traylor who's averaging 13.0 ppg after she scored a team-high 20 against the Blue Hose in Clinton earlier this season. Rachel LaLonde is scoring 9.4 points/game along with a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game. LaLonde tallied 15 points and eight rebounds in the 12/31 matchup against PC. Vanessa Blake has averaged 8.3 points/game as she's connected on 61.8 (68-110) field goals thus far.

- Sjökvist enters Wednesday's game third in the single-season Blue Hose DI record book with a 41.3% three-point percentage. Kierscht sits fifth on the same list at 41%... - Radford holds a 24-9 all-time lead in the DI era over Presbyterian with the Blue Hose winning four of the last five meetings with PC earning the 78-65 on Dec. 31 in Clinton. In the New Year's Eve victory, PC was led by Sjökvist who totaled 21 points and nine assists in 40 minutes as the Blue Hose defeated Radford by 13.
 
Brady Filling Up the Basket in League
- Brady has scored double figures in six of 10 conference contests highlighted by a career-high 29-point performance against Gardner-Webb. Brady is averaging a team-high 13.8 points/game in league play. Brady has tallied 11 double-figure scoring games overall with six of those happening in league contests including five of the last eight times the Blue Hose have taken the floor this season.
 
Kierscht Heating Up from Beyond the Arc
- The Blue Hose freshman continues to light it up from beyond the arc especially in conference play for PC as Kierscht has connected on 32 threes in league action highlighted by a season-high six against Winthrop. Kierscht has made a team-high 48 on the season which puts her third in the Big South as she sits in the top spot in the Big South with her three-point percentage at 41% thus far in the 2022-23 season. She's connected on multiple threes in 11 contests this season.
 
Sjökvist Racking Up the Helpers
- The Huskvarna, Sweden native continues to rack up the assists throughout the 2022-23 season as Sjökvist has totaled 85 assists this season including 43 of those coming 10 league games. She sits second in the league and in the top 90 in the nation in assists with her 85 helpers as she's also second in the conference with 4.2 assists/game. She's had eight games this season with 5+ assists.

- Brady enters Wednesday's matchup leading the league with a 54.8% field-goal percentage as she's averaging 13.0 ppg which ranks in a tie for sixth in the Big South...
