In a tightly contested battle between two of the top teams in the Big South Conference, the Blue Hose lost to the High Point Panthers, 1-0, on the road this past Wednesday.
 
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Junior forward Damorney Hutchinson, senior midfielder Carson Griffith, and freshman forward Victor Faaborg Christensen are tied for the team lead with four goals apiece. Freshman midfielder Sandro Rabarivony has scored two goals this season, Junior defender Reudd Manin, freshman midfielder Alex Walker, freshman midfielder Jose Gutierrez, sophomore midfielder Chase Kennedy, senior defender Ryan Galloway, and senior defender Jordan Johnson have scored goals this season. Freshman midfielder Diego Hernandez leads the team with four assists. Faaborg Christensen, Hutchinson, and Walker are second on the team with two assists apiece. Hutchinson leads the team with 23 shots. Hernandez is second on the team with 21 shots.

The Blue Hose have scored 20 goals this season with 14 goals coming in the second half.

Freshman goalkeeper Beatty Murray has recorded two shutouts this season. He has tallied 30 saves with four wins in goal. Sophomore goalkeeper James Dee recorded seven saves in Presbyterian's last game at High Point.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONORS
This week, Rabarivony was named Big South Freshman of the Week after scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in Presbyterian's 4-2 road win at USC Upstate on October 7. Rabarivony is the eighth player in the program's history to claim the Big South Freshman of the Week award.

On September 25, Murray earned Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors and Faaborg Christensen claimed his second Big South Freshman of the Week award after helping the Blue Hose begin Big South Conference play with a 3-2 road win at UNC Asheville on September 23. Murray is the sixth player in school history to earn Big South Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Faaborg Christensen is the second player in the program's history to earn multiple Big South Freshman of the Week awards. 

On August 28, Faaborg Christensen earned his first Big South Freshman of the Week after recording a hat trick in PC's 8-1 win over Southern Wesleyan.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-WINTHROP SERIES
Saturday's game will be the 19^th meeting between Presbyterian and Winthrop, who leads the series, 11-5-2. Presbyterian won the previous game between the two teams, 2-0, at home on November 2, 2022. Junior forward Nile Nguidjol and former Blue Hose standout Nacho Gallego scored goals for the Blue Hose.
 
SCOUTING WINTHROP
The Eagles enter the game with a 3-6-2 overall record and a 2-0-2 Big South record. In their most recent game, the Eagles tied Longwood, 1-1, on the road last Wednesday.  
 
Winthrop has scored 14 goals this season while their opponents have scored 25 goals. Junior forward Ricardo Ferreira leads the Big South in scoring with six goals.
 
Winthrop coach Daniel Ridenhour is in his seventh season as the Eagles' head coach.
