SALEM, Va.   –  The Presbyterian Blue Hose cross country teams led by seniors William Johnson and Keyli Gomez ran in the Big South Championships at Green Hill Park in Salem, Virginia on Sunday morning. Four Presbyterian runners: Gomez, sophomore Isabel Whitman, junior Caroline Rairigh, and freshman Noah Kaufman set personal records in the meet. 

NOTABLES

• Gomez paced the Blue Hose with a personal record of 19:31.4 in the women's 5k.
• Sophomore Isabel Whitman posted a personal record time of 19:45.1 and Rairigh also ran a personal record time of 20:32.3, which is even more of an accomplishment since she lost both of her shoes during the race.
• Rounding out the Blue Hose women's runners were freshman Abby Donaldson (21:43.1), freshman Savannah Watson (23:23.5), senior Julie Covil (23:47.1) and redshirt freshman Eliana Watson (24:51.4).
• High Point won the women's title while Panthers runner Brianna Malone took the individual title with a time of 16:45.2.
• Johnson led the Blue Hose in every race this season after posting a time of 27:08.1 in the men's 8k.
• Kaufman finished the race in a personal record time of 28:08.7.
• Rounding out the rest of Presbyterian's men's runners were sophomore Kevin Lagat (28:42.7), sophomore Spencer Wieters (30:31.7), freshman JJ Bartlett (30:59.5), junior James Marler (36:39.9), and sophomore Nizeyimana Aristide (39:07.4).
• Charleston won the men's title which included the top three finishers led by Micah Gilpatric with a time of 23:34.5.
