CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team returns home this weekend for two Big South Conference games in Templeton Center. On Friday, Oct. 6 the Blue Hose take on the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at 6 p.m., followed by a match against the Winthrop Eagles at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.

PC GOES PINK!
- In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the PC Athletic Department has initiated a week-long partnership with Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and the Laurens County Cancer Association (LCCA).
Zeroing in on four athletic events from Tuesday through Friday, the event aims to honor those who have bravely battled cancer, remember those we have lost, and raise funds for a crucial cause.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
Presbyterian has won their last four games and are 3-0 in the Big South Conference. This is the best start that the program has had in the Big South since 2018 when they started 4-0. Senior opposite,
Kasey Battle leads the Blue Hose in kills with 144 (2.57 kpg) on the season, she also has 85 digs, and 31 blocks. Sophomore setter,
Anna Baranski leads the team in assists with 229 (5.09 apg), Baranski has also tallied 15 service aces, and 111 digs. Sophomore libero,
Sophia Del Valle leads the team with 196 digs (3.84 dpg), she also has recorded eight service aces, and 47 assists. Senior middle blocker
Hailey Grocholski has recorded seven solo blocks and 38 block assists.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – GARDNER-WEBB
The Runnin' Bulldogs enter Friday's game with a 7-8 record with wins over Stony Brook, NC Central, Hampton, Eastern Michigan, Chattanooga, Queens, and Radford. Over the first 15 matches of the season Gardner-Webb averaged 11.7 kpg while hitting at .174 percent. The Runnin' Bulldogs stat leaders so far this season include, Jenna Otts with 177 kills (3.22 kpg), Morgan Hornaday who recorded 225 assists (5.92 apg), Maddison Smith with 28 service aces, Sophia Kotsovolos with 275 digs (5 dpg), along with Autumn Flowers who has 33 blocks. PC leads the all-time series between the two teams, 22-11. Gradner-Webb is coached by Eric Plunkett who is in his third year as head coach for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – WINTHROP
The Eagles enter the weekend with a 3-11 record with wins over South Carolina, Gardner-Webb, and Radford. Over the first 14 matches of their season Winthrop averaged 11.18 kpg while hitting at .155 percent. The Eagles stat leaders so far this season include, Avery Jolley with 132 kills (2.87 kpg), Alyah Cadavid who recorded 147 digs (2.94 dpg), Isabella Murray with 431 assists (8.62 apg), and Brookelynn Thomas who has 14 solo blocks and 35 block assists. Winthrop leads the all-time series between the two teams, 29-10. PC won the last matchup 3-1, on November 12th of last season after
Kasey Battle recorded 14 kills with a .542 hitting percentage. The Blue Hose haven't lost to the Runnin' Bulldogs in Templeton Center since 2016. Winthrop is coached by Heather Gearhart who was promoted to full-time head coach for the Eagles in December 2022.
