Blue Hose Take on High Point in Big South Tournament

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose volleyball team will be competing in the Big South Conference Tournament on Saturday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. against the number one seed High Point Panthers.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
Throughout the regular season Presbyterian has won seven conference matches over Charleston Southern (x2), UNC Asheville, USC Upstate (x2), Gardner-Webb, and Radford. PC is ranked first in the league for their impressive 230 blocks, third in the league for their 1528 digs, and fourth for recording 158 service aces throughout the regular season. The Blue Hose were recently awarded with five accolades from the Big South for their success this season. Senior opposite Kasey Battle, who has placed 10th in the league for averaging 2.46 kills per set, earned Second-Team All-Conference honors. Junior outside hitter Hannah Rowe also earned a spot on Second-Team All-Conference after placing eighth in the league for averaging 2.71 kills per set. Senior middle blocker Hailey Grocholski earned an Honorable Mention award after totaling 1.04 blocks per set. Freshman outside hitter Ashley Miller earned a spot on the Big South's All-Freshman team and senior setter Kinsey Bailey achieved All-Academic honors. Bailey is ranked fourth in the conference for her 34 (0.44 per set) service aces while Courtney Aulbaugh is ranked seventh with 32 (0.33 per set). Jordan McAda is ranked fifth in the league with 77 (1.01 bpg) total blocks.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – HIGH POINT
High Point went undefeated in conference play after winning their last 14 games. Of these 14 games the Panthers lost just two sets, one to PC and then one to Radford. Over their 27-game regular season schedule, High Point has averaged 12.8 kills per set with a .247 hitting percentage. The Panthers stat leaders include Big South Player of the Year Dylan Maberry, Setter of the Year Allie Gray, Freshman of the Year Eve Wilson, and Newcomer of the Year Christine Graf. All of these players and Jordyn Schilling made First-Team All-Conference. These two teams played twice in the regular season where the Panthers took both wins. High Point is coached by sixth year head coach Ryan Meek who was recently named Coach of the Year by the Big South.
