The Blue Hose lost to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 79-75, in overtime at the Templeton Center last Wednesday afternoon. Junior forward

Kory Mincy has knocked down nine three-point field goals this season. As a team, PC is averaging 77 points per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the field. The Blue Hose defense has limited their opponents to 69.6 points per game and 39.6 percent shooting from the field.
BEST START IN DIVISION I ERA - Presbyterian began the season 4-0 which is the best start in the school's Division I era. Presbyterian began the 2006-07 season, 4-0, which was the last time that PC won their first four games of the season. The 2006-07 season was PC's last season as a member of Division II.
BLOCKED SHOTS - Presbyterian has already tallied 29 blocked shots and are averaging 4.1 blocks per game as a team.
Marquis Barnett has recorded 12 blocks this season to rank among the nation's leaders at 1.7 blocks per game. In Presbyterian's win over The Citadel (November 13), he tallied five blocked shots which is tied for the fourth most blocks in a game in the program's Division I era.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS - Barnett garnered Big South Player of the Week honors this week (November 20). Barnett is the eighth different Blue Hose player to earn the Big South Men's Basketball Player of the Week award in the program's history. For the week, he averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game in helping lead the Blue Hose to a 3-1 record last week with a home win over The Citadel, a road win at North Florida, and a neutral site win over Northwestern State.
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS - Over the first seven games, Presbyterian has already had ten different players score in double-figures. Teel (six times), Barnett (five times), James (two times),

Trevon Reddish-Rhone (two times), Pierce (two times), Stewart (two times),

FIVE WINS ALREADY - The Presbyterian Blue Hose have already tied last season's win total with five wins over their first seven games.
OVERTIME – The PC-Tennessee Tech game (November 22) was PC's first overtime game since an overtime game against UNC Asheville (January 25, 2023). Presbyterian played in a Division I school-record five overtime games during the 2021-22 season.
POWER FIVE WINS - - Presbyterian began the season with a 68-62 win over SEC foe Vanderbilt on the road (November 7). This marks the third time in the program's history that Presbyterian has defeated a Power Five team. In the 2010-11 season, Presbyterian defeated Auburn (December 18), 62-59, and Wake Forest (December 21), 66-64. In the 2011-12 season, Presbyterian defeated Cincinnati (November 19), 56-54, on the road. Cincinnati is now a member of the Big 12 but when the Blue Hose defeated them in the 2011-12 season, when the Bearcats were not in a Power Five league.
REACHING THE CENTURY MARK - Presbyterian scored 100 points in their 100-58 win over CIU (November 9). What is even more remarkable about that is the Blue Hose scored 91 points over the final 30 minutes of the game. The last time Presbyterian scored 100 points was in a 106-59 win over UNC Asheville on March 5, 2019.
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
PRESBYTERIAN-ELON SERIES
Monday's game is the 42
nd meeting between Presbyterian and Elon, who leads the all-time series, 21-20. Presbyterian defeated Elon, 69-63, in their previous game which came in the Templeton Center last season, December 15, 2022. Former Blue Hose standout
Owen McCormack paced Presbyterian with a game-high 21 points while connecting on four three-point field goals. Barnett scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the game.
SCOUTING ELON
The Phoenix enter the game with a 3-3 record with victories in two of their last three games. Elon has defeated ETSU, IUPUI, and Holy Cross this season with road losses to Wake Forest, North Dakota, and Winthrop. Elon averages 77.3 points per game while their opponents have averaged 80.2 points per game. Sophomore guard TK Simpkins leads three Phoenix double-figure scorers at 12.7 points per game. Sophomore guard Max Mackinnon averages 12.5 points and a team-leading five rebounds per contest. Elon has four players that have connected on at least 10 three-point field goals.
