CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian Blue Hose men's golfer Gage Howard was named Big South Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon. Howard claimed the honor after finishing tied for seventh at the Big South Preview at the Ocean Island Golf Club in Fripp Island, South Carolina.

Howard is the sixth different golfer in Presbyterian's men's golf program's history that has claimed the Big South Freshman of the Week award. Howard is the third Blue Hose golfer to earn a league weekly award this season as Lleyton Renner (September 21) and Jack Wofford (October 19) were both named Big South Golfers of the Week earlier this year.

PERFORMANCE THIS WEEK
The Woodruff, South Carolina native made an impressive collegiate debut finishing tied for seventh with a 1-over 143 (73-70) playing as an individual at the Big South Preview this past Monday. He recorded nine birdies and tied for the top spot in the field in par-3 scoring.
