Presbyterian claimed their fourth win in a row after beating Western Carolina 60-41 last week. Presbyterian's
Mara Neira led the Blue Hose with her new season-high of 19 points. She also added three steals, four rebounds, and hit five three-point shots.
Bryanna Brady tallied 11 points, four rebounds, 5-of-6 free throws, and one block. Tilda Sjökvist recorded 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a steal. As a team, the Blue Hose totaled 18 offensive rebounds, 10 steals, 19 points off turnovers, 36 points in the paint, while scoring 60 on the day.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS
Queens University enters Wednesday's game with a 4-4 record with wins over Johnson & Wales, USC Upstate, Wesleyan, and Winthrop, and losses against Mississippi, LSU, UNC Asheville, and South Carolina State. The Royals average 66.5 points per game and 35.3 rebounds per game. Junior guard Nicole Gwynn leads the team in scoring with an average of 17.8 ppg, while sophomore forward Jordyn Weaver averages 10.9 ppg.
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE FIGURE SCORERS
Over the first nine games, Presbyterian has already had eight different players score in double-figures. Brady (six times), Sjökvist (six times), Kierscht (three times), Neira (four times), Carrillo (once), Kline (once), Kindseth (once), and Cunill (once) have all tallied double-digit scoring games this season.
PRESBYTERIAN – QUEENS SERIES
Wednesday marks the first time in Presbyterian College's Division I history that they will face off against Queens University of Charlotte. The Royals made the transition to a NCAA Division I school in July of 2022 as they became new members of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
BIG SOUTH STAT LEADERS
Presbyterian is currently ranked first in the Big South standings after a four-game win streak and a 6-3 record. As a team, the Blue Hose have some impressive statistics that rank them first in the Big South Conference. Throughout their first nine games PC has led the conference with a +8.3-scoring margin, a 42.7 field goal percentage, 14.9 assists per game, a 0.8 assist to turnover ratio, and an average of 27.8 defensive rebounds per game. Individually,
Bryanna Brady leads the conference with her 59.5 (47-79) field goal percentage. She is also ranked second in the league with seven blocks (0.8 bpg) and sixth in the conference for scoring 13 ppg. Tilda Sjökvist is ranked seventh in the Big South for averaging 12.3 ppg. She is also ranked fourth in the conference for her 29 assists (3.2 apg), her 0.9 assist to turnover ratio, and her 1.9 average three-point field goals per game.
