Blue Hose Travel to UNCG; Host Tennessee Tech this Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (2-6) play a road match at the UNCG Spartans (1-3) and a home match against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (0-4) this Friday-Saturday, February 17-18. The Blue Hose play the Spartans on the road on Friday, February 17 at 1 p.m. Then, Presbyterian hosts Tennessee Tech in their home opening match on Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m.
 
HOME OPENER
Saturday's match against Tennessee Tech marks the Blue Hose season-opening match at the Templeton Tennis Courts. Presbyterian has won six consecutive home opening matches.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARD
Dusan Milanovic (January 18) and Max Benson (January 25) claimed the first two Big South Player of the Week awards handed out this season. David Mamalat was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on January 25.
 
PRESEASON BIG SOUTH FAVORITE
The Blue Hose were picked first in the preseason Big South Coaches' Poll.  
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The doubles team of Benson and Milanovic are ranked No. 32 in the ITA doubles rankings. Milanovic is ranked No. 76 in the ITA singles rankings.
 
SPRING SEASON RESULTS
This season in singles play, Milanovic has a 5-1 record. While Benson, Javier Matos, and Sebastian Dominguez have each collected three singles wins. Presbyterian has captured the doubles point in three of their last four matches.
 
UNCG
The Spartans have won the last three meetings between Presbyterian and UNCG. This season in their last two matches, the Spartans have faced two Big South opponents with a win over Longwood and a loss to Radford. Andrew Black leads the team with two singles wins. The doubles teams of John Gabelic and David Flisberg and Harrison Gwynn and Devon Moskowitz have each recorded a win this season.
 
TENNESSEE TECH
Saturday's match will be the first meeting between Presbyterian and Tennessee Tech. Before playing the Blue Hose on Saturday, Tennessee Tech has a road match at UNC Asheville on Friday. This season, the Golden Eagles have played a tough schedule with road matches at No. 11 Tennessee, No. 9 Wake Forest, and Liberty.
