Presbyterian Plays at Georgia State; Hosts Chattanooga and North Georgia this Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (4-6) will play three matches this weekend, February 24-26. The Blue Hose get the weekend started with a road match at the Georgia State Panthers (1-7) on Friday, February 24 at 1 p.m. Presbyterian returns to the Templeton Tennis Courts with two matches on Sunday, February 26. First, PC plays the Chattanooga Mocs (7-2) at 10 a.m. and then the North Georgia Nighthawks (2-1) in the final match of the day at 2:30 p.m.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARD
Dusan Milanovic (January 18) and Max Benson (January 25) claimed the first two Big South Player of the Week awards handed out this season. This week, Denim Yadav (February 22) and earlier this season David Mamalis (January 25) captured Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The doubles team of Benson and Milanovic are ranked No. 30 in the ITA doubles rankings. Milanovic is ranked No. 78 in the ITA singles rankings.
 
SPRING SEASON RESULTS
This season in singles play, Milanovic has a 7-1 record. While Benson and Sebastian Dominguez have each collected five singles wins. Javier Matos has recorded four singles wins. Presbyterian has captured the doubles point in five of their last six matches. The doubles teams of Benson and Milanovic and Dominguez and Matos have each collected four wins this spring. Mamalat and Teo Cariov have two doubles wins this spring. 
 
SEVENTH STRAIGHT HOME OPENING WINS
With last Saturday's 7-0 win over Tennessee Tech at the Templeton Tennis Courts, Presbyterian has won seven consecutive home opening matches.
 
PRESEASON BIG SOUTH FAVORITE
The Blue Hose were picked first in the preseason Big South Coaches' Poll.  
 
GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers enter Friday's contest on a four-match losing streak. This season, Edward Tymes leads Georgia State with four singles wins. The doubles team of Roberts Grinvalds and Diogo Morais have collected two wins. In the last Georgia State-Presbyterian match, the Panthers defeated the Blue Hose, 4-3, at the Templeton Tennis Courts on April 3, 2022.
 
CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs are currently on a four-match winning streak with wins over UNC Asheville, Georgia Southern, North Alabama, and Tennessee State. In dual match play, Gabriel Castillo has six wins with five of those wins coming at number three singles. Kristof Kincses and Ryan Mudre have each tallied five singles wins in dual-match play. The doubles tandems of Kerim Hyett and Kristof Kincses and Peyton Gatti and Simon Labbe have each recorded five wins this spring. Presbyterian has won the previous two matches between the two teams including a 7-0 road win last season on February 27. 2022.
 
NORTH GEORGIA
The Nighthawks have won three of their four matches this spring. In singles action, Joaquin Benoit, Robin Elden, and Giulio Sassi have three wins apiece. The doubles teams of Benoit and Cole Brainard and Eldin and Daniel Ostap have also three wins each. Sunday's match will be the first-ever match between Presbyterian and North Georgia.
