Presbyterian lost to USC Upstate, 59-57, in their final home game of the season this past Wednesday evening.
 
Trevon Reddish-Rhone led the Blue Hose with 16 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Jalen Forrest scored 10 points. Crosby James scored nine points off the bench. Owen McCormack scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds. Marquis Barnett scored eight points and grabbed six boards.
 
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Forrest, who leads all freshmen in the Big South in scoring, is Presbyterian's leading scorer averaging 11.2 points per game. Forrest leads the Blue Hose in free throws made (91) and attempted (123). James, who has scored in double-figures 13 times, is second on the team in scoring averaging 9.2 points per game. James is tied for the team lead with 38 three-point field goals made. Barnett averages 9.1 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding averaging 5.0 boards per game. Terrell Ard, Jr. leads the Blue Hose in rebounding averaging 5.6 boards per game. Ard averages 7.1 points per game. Reddish-Rhone averages 6.9 points while dishing out a team-leading 2.2 assists per game. Kobe Stewart averages 7.2 points while grabbing 4.6 rebounds per game. McCormack averages 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while connecting on 38 three-point field goals. 
 
NOTES
JALEN FORREST BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK FOUR TIMES - Forrest has been named Big South Freshman of the Week four times (November 28, January 9, January 16 and January 30). He is the fourth player in the program's history to earn at least four Big South Freshman of the Week awards.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLES - The Blue Hose have had four double-doubles this season. Barnett has tallied two double-doubles: vs. Campbell (December 29) with 11 points and 12 rebounds and at USC Upstate (January 18) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Ard recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds at UNC Asheville (January 25). Stewart tallied his first career double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds against High Point (February 15).
 
BENCH POINTS - Presbyterian behind the double-figure scoring performances from Forrest, Stewart, Houston Jones, and Quadir Pettaway, off the bench in the win over Allen (December 19, 2022), the Blue Hose scored a season-high 58 bench points. This marked the most bench points scored by the Blue Hose since tallying 67 bench points in a home win over UNC Asheville on March 5, 2019. In the 2018-19 season, the Blue Hose recorded four games with at least 51 bench points.

This season, Presbyterian has had 23 double-figure scoring games off the bench. Presbyterian has had three games with at least two double-figure scorers off the bench. The Blue Hose average 20.5 points per game off the bench this season.
 
OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS - This season, Presbyterian averages 10.43 offensive boards per game. The Blue Hose have recorded 15 double-figure offensive rebounds games (Carolina University - November 7, at The Citadel - November 10, at East Carolina - November 12, at UAB, November 16, vs. Bucknell - November 21, VMI - November 29, Elon - December 15, Allen - December 19, Campbell - December 29, January 4, at Winthrop, Charleston Southern - January 7, at USC Upstate - January 18, at UNC Asheville - January 25, Radford - February 1 and High Point - February 15). The Blue Hose grabbed a season-high 20 offensive boards at Winthrop, January 4, 2023.
 
COACH FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fourth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain, and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 52 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks that are coaching their alma maters.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-CHARLESTON SOUTHERN SERIES
Saturday's game will be the 38th meeting between Presbyterian and Charleston Southern, who leads the all-time series, 27-10. Charleston Southern defeated Presbyterian, 67-61, at the Templeton Center in their first meeting this season on January 7. In the last game in the series played in Charleston, the Blue Hose defeated the Buccaneers, 62-61, behind 11 points and eight assists from Reddish-Rhone.
 
SCOUTING CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
The Buccaneers enter the game on a seven-game losing streak. Sophomore guard Claudell Harris, Jr. is second in the Big South averaging a team-leading 17.6 points per game. Four Charleston Southern players average double-figure points. The Buccaneers average 72.4 points per game while allowing their opponents to average 75.0 points per game.
