MILL SPRING, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team held off a late-charging Evansville to earn the team title on Sunday at the Bright's Creek Intercollegiate. Neza Siftar of Gardner-Webb earned the individual title with a total score of 221 (+5) over the 54 holes.
RESULTS
- Sarah Boteler finished second overall in the event on Sunday following a final-round score of 79. She finished the event with a score of 228, in second place overall.
- Mariana Polakova finished in a tie for fourth in the event following her final-round score of 78. She posted a total score of 232 in her tie for a fourth-place finish.
- Alina Shchepteva posted her best round of the tournament in the final round as she carded a 75. Shchepteva finished in a tie for ninth in the event with a 240 score.
- Sofia Carles finished in a tie for 15th following her third-round score of 80. Carles tallied a 246 in the event en route to her tie for 15th performance.
- Lextyn Petz improved in her final round on Sunday with a final round score of 84 to finish in 28th at 259.
- Playing as an individual, Taylor Reaves finished the festivities with a final round score of 79 to tie with her teammate Carles in 15th place with a cumulative score of 246.
- Kelli Kragh, who also played as an individual this weekend, finished with a 91 on Sunday to place 31st overall for the event.
NOTES
- Sunday's team title marks the first win for the Blue Hose in a tournament since PC took home the Lady Falcon Invitational during the 2008-09 season.
- Boteler earned her second top ten of the season with her second-place finish, which also marks her career-best finish.
- Polakova earned her best college finish on Sunday with her tie for fourth place performance. She had a tie for ninth at the Elon Invitational before Sunday's fourth-place showing.
- Carles also earned her season best with a tie for 15th place.
- In just her second college tournament, Shchepteva improved on her career-best with a tie for ninth finish in the event.
- Petz, Reaves, and Kragh also posted season-best finishes on Sunday to round out the Blue Hose strong showing overall in the event.
