Late Offense Pushes Charleston Southern Past PC

CLINTON, S.C. – Behind a late offensive performance on Sunday, Charleston Southern defeated the Presbyterian College baseball team 10-0 at the PC Baseball Complex in the series finale against the Bucs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both pitching staff matched each other thru the opening six innings on a late Sunday afternoon after the weather pushed back the start over three hours. The scoreless tie was broken in the seventh when the Bucs connected on a solo homer and RBI single to jump to a 2-0 lead.
- CSU pushed across one more in the eighth before CSU exploded in the ninth for a seven-run frame to push the lead to 10-0 en route to salvaging game three of the series on Sunday afternoon.

NOTABLES
- Ryan Ouzts pushed his on-base streak to eight on Sunday with a base knock for PC's right fielder. He also tallied a hit in all three games over the weekend. 
- In the Blue Hose six league games, Ouzts leads the team with a .400 average at 8-for-20 with seven RBIs thus far.
- PC turned three double plays on Sunday marking the most by a Blue Hose defense in a game since May 2021 at High Point. 
- With his 16 putouts, Chase Hughes tied the Blue Hose DI single-game record on Sunday afternoon. 
- Sunday's game was delayed from its original 1:00 p.m. start on Sunday due to morning rain that pushed thru the Clinton area.
