FARMVILLE, Va.. – Behind two doubles and six singles wins the Presbyterian Blue Hose (11-9, Big South: 2-1) cruised past the Longwood Lancers (5-8, Big South: 0-3), 7-0, on the road on Monday afternoon.
DOUBLES
With wins at number one and two doubles, Presbyterian captured the doubles point for the 13
th time this season. Longwood recorded their only victory of the match with a win at number three doubles. At number two doubles, Presbyterian's
Javier Matos and
Sebastian Dominguez collected their 10
th win of the season with a 6-3 victory. Presbyterian's doubles tandem of
Max Benson and
Dusan Milanovic, who are ranked No. 42 in the ITA doubles rankings, clinched the doubles point for the Blue Hose with a 6-4 win at number one doubles. The win marked the duo's ninth victory of the season.
SINGLES
Presbyterian won all six singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number six singles, Presbyterian's
David Mamalat cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win. Then, at number two singles, Presbyterian's Benson recorded his 11
th win of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. At number four singles, Presbyterian's
Denim Yadav clinched the overall victory for the Blue Hose with a 6-3, 6-1 win, which marked his eighth victory this spring. At number five singles, Presbyterian's Matos posted a 7-5, 6-1 win for his 10
th straight victory giving him 13 wins this season. At number one singles, Presbyterian's Milanovic, who is ranked No. 72 in the ITA singles rankings, tallied a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) for his team-leading 14
th win of the season. Dominguez closed out the Blue Hose win with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8) victory at number three singles.
