Early Offense Sends Wofford Past PC

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team could not overcome the Terriers offense as Wofford picked up the 18-1 victory on Tuesday evening at Russell C. King Field in Spartanburg.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
- Wofford opened the scoring on Tuesday with a three-run homer in the first to get the early advantage.
- The hosts increased the lead in the second with five runs in the second that pushed the lead to 8-0 after two frames.
- The Terriers pushed across four in the third and six in the fifth to en route to the victory on Tuesday.
- Evan Cuervo connected on his first college homer in the sixth to get the Blue Hose on the board in the midweek contest.

NOTABLES
- Cuervo's sixth inning homer was the freshman's first of his college career. It's the 12th player for the Blue Hose to connect on a homer this season.
- Senior Tanner Smith tallied a pair of strikeouts on Tuesday in relief work marking his 14th straight outing with a strikeout and 10th time to record a pair this season.
- Freshman Jeremiah Hampton matched his career-high with a pair of strikeouts for the second time in his young career.
- Sean Hollister tallied a career-high four strikeouts in his 2.1 innings of work.
- Brody Fahr picked up his team-high 12th multi-hit game including his seventh double of the season.

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose will now turn their attention to Big South play on Friday at 6 p.m. when PC travels to Winthrop to battle the Eagles on ESPN+. The first pitch on Saturday is set for 3 p.m. before a 1 p.m. start on Sunday afternoon.
