Late Offensive Surge Carries Lancers Past Blue Hose in Home Finale

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team dropped its home finale on Sunday afternoon to the visiting Longwood Lancers by the score of 12-6 at the PC Baseball Complex. Brody Fahr matched his career-high with four hits to pace the Blue Hose at the plate on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose opened the scoring in the third with an RBI single from Fahr before Ryan Ouzts picked one up of his own to extend it to a 2-0 lead.
- PC pushed across a third run with solid baserunning in the third inning from Fahr in a double steal scenario.
- The Lancers picked up a pair of runs in the fourth to cut it to a 3-2 game after 3.5 innings.
- The guests evened it up in the fifth off of an RBI single.
- Presbyterian regained the lead in the sixth with a pair of runs to push it to a 5-3 advantage over the Lancers.
- Longwood answered in the seventh with three runs that allowed the guests to take a 6-5 lead.
- Fahr laced an RBI double down the right field line in PC's half of the seventh that knotted the score up at six.
- The Lancers pushed across sixth in the eighth inning that would help carry the guests to a 12-6 victory in the Blue Hose home finale.
 
NOTABLES
- Fahr matched his career-high with four hits to help pace the offense on Sunday as it marked his 21st multi-hit game of the season for PC.
- In league play, Fahr is hitting at a .396 clip with six doubles and scoring 18 runs for the Blue Hose. He has also tallied 12 of his 21 multi-hit games against league foes.
- Jack Gorman added a pair of hits in the contest to pick up his 12th multi-hit contest of the season.
- Trey Fenderson recorded his sixth double of the season in Sunday's defeat.
- Daniel Eagen in his second start in as many weeks tallied a season-high six strikeouts which was one off of his career-high mark for the sophomore right-hander.
- With his stolen base on Sunday, Kyle Decker tied the Blue Hose DI career record for stolen bases with his 41st bag swiped in his time with Presbyterian.

UP NEXT
 - PC begins the final week of the regular season on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. first pitch against Alabama State from Montgomery. The Blue Hose look to complete the season sweep of the Hornets after tallying a 6-2 victory on April 25th in Clinton.
