A Closer Look at the Blue Hose
Thursday's game marks the regular season debut of first-year head coach Nick Finotti as the Blue Hose coach. The Blue Hose return 16 letterwinners off a 2022 team that posted a program Division I record of 10 wins. Seniors Carson Griffith and Lorenzo Nagy and junior Nile Nguidjol were named preseason All-Big South in a vote by the league's head coaches a couple of weeks ago.

Finotti welcomes a talented 15-player recruiting class to join the 16 returning letterwinners on the 2023 roster.
 
The Blue Hose Home Opener
For the 11th time in the program's history, the Blue Hose begin the season at home. Since joining Division I, the Blue Hose are 7-8-1 all-time in their home opening game.
 
Presbyterian-Southern Wesleyan Series
Presbyterian defeated Southern Wesleyan, 7-1, at home last season on August 29. Chase Kennedy scored two goals and Lorenzo Nagy and Cheikh Atamao each scored a goal in the game.
 
Scouting Southern Wesleyan
Head Coach Josh Quarandillo is in his fifth season at Southern Wesleyan. The Warriors played High Point in an exhibition game on the road on August 19. Last season, Southern Wesleyan finished the season with a 2-12-1 record which included wins over Brevard and Erskine.
