Tuesday Afternoon Contest in Martin Stadium

The Presbyterian Blue Hose put their two-game winning streak on the line when they host the Belmont Bruins at Martin Stadium on Tuesday, September 26 at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
This past Saturday, the Blue Hose rallied with two goals in the final 14 minutes to collect a 3-2 road win at UNC Asheville in Presbyterian's Big South Conference opening game. Junior forward Damorney Hutchinson led the Blue Hose with one goal which was the game-tying goal and two assists. Freshman forward Victor Faaborg Christensen scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the game-tying goal. Freshman midfielder Alex Walker scored his first career goal which was the game's first goal.   
 
BIG SOUTH OPENER
After Presbyterian's 3-2 win at UNC Asheville, since 2016 the Blue Hose have posted a 6-0-2 record in their Big South opening game. During that stretch, PC beat High Point, Winthrop, Campbell, Longwood, Radford, and UNC Asheville.
 
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Faaborg Christensen leads PC with four goals. Senior midfielder Carson Griffith has scored three goals. Walker, Hutchinson, freshman midfielder Sandro Rabarivony, freshman midfielder Jose Gutierrez, sophomore midfielder Chase Kennedy, senior defender Ryan Galloway, and senior defender Jordan Johnson have scored goals this season. Freshman midfielder Diego Hernandez, Faaborg Christensen, Hutchinson, and Walker are tied for the team lead with two assists each. Hernandez leads PC with 11 shots. Hutchinson and Faaborg Christensen are tied for second on the team with ten shots apiece.

Freshman goalkeeper Beatty Murray has recorded two shutouts this season including a shutout victory in Presbyterian's 1-0 home win over Jacksonville last Tuesday. He has recorded 17 saves with three wins in goal.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONORS
On August 28, Faaborg Christensen was named Big South Freshman of the Week after recording a hat trick in PC's 8-1 win over Southern Wesleyan. Faaborg Christensen is the seventh player in the program's history to earn Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

PRESBYTERIAN-BELMONT SERIES
Tuesday's game will be the fourth meeting between Presbyterian and Belmont, who has won the previous three games in the series. Belmont beat Presbyterian, 2-0, at home in their last meeting on September 21, 2019.   
 
SCOUTING BELMONT
The Bruins enter the game with a 3-3-2 record with wins over Georgia State, Houston Christian, and Southern Indiana and ties against Florida Atlantic and Chicago State. Belmont enters Tuesday's contest on a two-game losing streak dropping games to UIC and No. 9 Missouri State.
 
Sophomore forward Brock Kiper leads the Bruins with three goals. Graduate student midfielder Jansen Wilson is second on the team with two goals while also dishing out two assists. 
 
Belmont coach David Costa is in his fifth season at the helm of the Bruins program.
