BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONORS
This week, Murray earned Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors and Faaborg Christensen claimed his second Big South Freshman of the Week award after helping the Blue Hose begin Big South Conference play with a 3-2 road win at UNC Asheville on September 23. Murray is the sixth player in school history to earn Big South Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Faaborg Christensen is the second player in the program's history to earn multiple Big South Freshman of the Week awards.
On August 28, Faaborg Christensen earned his first Big South Freshman of the Week after recording a hat trick in PC's 8-1 win over Southern Wesleyan. Faaborg Christensen was the seventh player in the program's history to earn Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
BIG SOUTH OPENER
After Presbyterian's 3-2 win at UNC Asheville, since 2016 the Blue Hose have posted a 6-0-2 record in their Big South opening game. During that stretch, PC beat High Point, Winthrop, Campbell, Longwood, Radford, and UNC Asheville.
PRESBYTERIAN-GARDNER-WEBB SERIES
Saturday's game will be the 16
th meeting between Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb, who leads the series 12-2-1. PC and Gardner-Webb battled to a 3-3 tie in their last meeting in Martin Stadium on October 30, 2021.
SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
The Runnin' Bulldogs began the season with wins over Wofford and South Carolina while tying James Madison. Gardner-Webb enters Saturday's game on a five-game losing streak. This season, Gardner-Webb has four players who have scored two goals – junior midfielder Caio Hughes, sophomore forwards Santiago Hoyos, Pablo Brimeux, and Jaylen Orr. Gardner-Webb has been outscored 22-8 but they have outshot their opponents, 96-91.
