LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose lost to the Winthrop Eagles, 81-71, at the Templeton Center on Wednesday evening. Junior guard Samage Teel led the Blue Hose with 13 points while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out four assists. Junior guard Marquis Barnett scored 12 points. Senior guard Crosby James scored 12 points. Junior forward Jonah Pierce scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with a season-high five assists.
  
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBER – Barnett leads the team in scoring averaging 13.7 points per game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds and distributing 2.9 assists per game. Barnett leads the Big South in steals with 34 averaging 1.89 steals per contest. Teel is second on the team in scoring averaging 11.8 points per game while dishing out 2.9 assists per game. Teel has connected on a team-leading 27 three-point field goals. Pierce leads the team in rebounding averaging 5.6 boards per game while averaging 9.3 points per game. Senior guard Kobe Stewart is second on the team in rebounding at 4.6 boards per game. Stewart chips in with 7.6 points per game while connecting on 16 threes. Junior guard Jamahri Harvey averages 9.0 points while connecting on 18 three-point field goals. James has connected on 19 three-point field goals. Freshman guard Kory Mincy has knocked down 17 three-point field goals this season while averaging 6.6 points per game. Junior forward Kaleb Scott averages 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Trevon Reddish-Rhone averages 4.1 boards per game while averaging 5.1 points per game. Freshman guard Carl Parrish is one of seven PC players who have connected on double-figure three-point field goals with 12 made threes. As a team, PC is averaging 77.4 points per game.
 
BIG SOUTH LEADER IN FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE - Presbyterian leads the Big South Conference in field goal percentage shooting 48.4 percent (512-of-1057) from the field. This season, Presbyterian has had eight games shooting 50 percent or higher from the field. The Blue Hose shot a season-high 69.8 percent from the field in a win over Mid-Atlantic Christian on December 13. The Blue Hose shot 50.9 percent from the field against UNC Asheville on January 6.
 
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS - In 18 games, Presbyterian has had ten different players score in double-figures. Barnett (14 times), Teel (12 times), Harvey (nine times), Pierce (eight times), Stewart (six times), Mincy (five times), Scott (five times), Reddish-Rhone (three times), James (three times), and Parrish (twice) have all recorded double-digit scoring games this season.
 
PAINT TOUCHES - Presbyterian recorded their fifth 50-plus points in the paint scoring game with 60 points in the paint in the win over Johnson & Wales (December 3). The 60 points in the paint against Johnson & Wales marked the most points in the paint in a single-game by the Blue Hose since scoring 60 points in the paint at UNC Asheville (February 26, 2022). The Blue Hose posted their fourth 50-plus points in the paint scoring game with 52 points in the paint against Kennesaw State (December 16). PC collected their third 50-plus points in the paint scoring output of the season with a season-high 58 points in the paint in the win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13). The Blue Hose scored 56 points in the paint at Elon (November 27). PC scored 50 points in the paint against CIU (November 9). The Blue Hose average 39.3 points per game in the paint.
 
BENCH POINTS - The Blue Hose behind three double-figure scorers off the bench in the win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13) tallied 55 bench points. The 55 bench points are the most scored by PC since recording 58 points in the win over Allen last season, December 19, 2022. Presbyterian has had 23 double-figure scoring games off the bench while averaging 30.7 bench points per game.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-GARDNER-WEBB SERIES
Saturday's game will be the 58th meeting between Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb, who leads the all-time series 34-23. Gardner-Webb beat Presbyterian, 56-48, in their last meeting in Boiling Springs, North Carolina on February 4, 2023. James scored 10 points in that game. Stewart scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds in the contest.
 
SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
The Runnin' Bulldogs have wins over Erskine, Weber State, Limestone, Western Carolina, and North Greenville this season. Junior guard Julien Soumaoro leads three Gardner-Webb double-figure scorers averaging 14.1 points per game. He has connected on a team-leading 39 three-point field goals. Senior guard Caleb Robinson leads the team in rebounding at 6.1 boards per game whilc averaging 13.1 points per game. Senior guard DQ Nicholas rounds out the double-figure scorers at 10.2 points per game.
