MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-1) lost to perennial NCAA Tournament participant the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (1-0), 7-0, in their spring season opener on the road on Saturday afternoon.
DOUBLES
Middle Tennessee captured the doubles points with wins at number three and one. At number three doubles, Presbyterian's
Pedro Cardoso and
David Mamalat lost 6-2 to Middle Tennessee's Ondrej Horak and Leo Raquin. At number one doubles, Middle Tennessee's Javier Cueto Ramos and Jakub Kroslak defeated Presbyterian's
Javier Matos and
Evgenios Vasilakis, 6-2, to clinch the doubles point.
SINGLES
Middle Tennessee won all six singles matches to capture the overall win. Middle Tennessee's top three singles players are ranked in the latest ITA singles rankings. At number five singles, Presbyterian's Mamalat almost forced a first set tiebreaker dropping a tightly contested first set, 7-5.
