COACH SHARP'S THOUGHTS
"I thought we had stretches and moments that we did a really good job of executing our game plan on both sides of the floor. I'm frustrated with our start to the game, and I think High Point is to good of a team to get down 10 right away. We fought really hard in the second and third quarters, but we have to finish better around the basket. I think we are a better basketball team than we have played our last couple of games. Were going to keep coaching them and I know our kids our going to keep playing hard and keep fighting, we just have to stay with it."

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – Mara Neira scored the first two points of the game for the Blue Hose, but High Point was able to go on a 10-point run to take an eight-point lead. Four more points for PC made the score 10-6 before the Panthers took the next six points. Sonia Sato was able to beat the shot clock with a layup, but High Point ended the first quarter with a three-point play and an 18-8 lead.

Second Quarter – After an even start, Tilda Sjökvist grabbed a steal and ended the play with a fast break layup to make the score 22-13. With almost seven minutes to go before halftime, Neira hit her first three-point bucket of the night. HPU answered with a three of their own which brought their lead back to 10 points with a score of 26-16. Brady took two more points before the Panthers made a three-pointer. Neira scored another layup, but a three from High Point gave them a 12-point lead. A layup from Núria Cunill brought it back to a 10-point game until the Panthers scored another three-point bucket. Sjökvist scored the last two points of the first half, but High Point held an 11-point lead with a score of 35-24 at halftime.

Third Quarter – After some back and forth, Neira hit a three-point basket which put the score at 37-29. The Panthers scored the next four points, but Cunill answered with back to back layups. High Point scored the next five points, but Presbyterian took four points of their own. The score was pushed to 50-41 after some back and forth, until a three-point play from the Panthers gave them a 12-point lead. Brady ended the quarter with a free throw to make the score 53-42.

Fourth Quarter – Six points from both sides made the score 59-48 with 5:20 left to play. The Panthers made a three-pointer to increase their lead to 14 points with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter. With three minutes left to play HPU made another three before Sjökvist made a fast break layup. Sjökvist took another layup with 2:01 before a timeout from PC.
