Junior forward Kaleb Scott recorded his first career double-double to lead the Presbyterian Blue Hose to a 91-67 win over the Johnson & Wales Wildcats in their final non-conference game at the Templeton Center last Saturday afternoon. Scott scored 22 points on 10-for-12 shooting from the field while grabbing 12 rebounds. Junior guard Marquis Barnett scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior guard Kobe Stewart scored 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field off the bench for the Blue Hose. Junior guard Jamahri Harvey rounded out Presbyterian's double-figure scorers with 10 points. The Blue Hose scored a season-high 60 points in the paint.
 

BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBER –
Barnett leads the team in scoring averaging 13.5 points per game while grabbing 4.5 rebounds and distributing 2.9 assists per game. Junior guard Samage Teel is second on the team in scoring averaging 11.9 points per game while dishing out 2.9 assists per game. Teel has connected on a team-leading 20 three-point field goals. Junior forward Jonah Pierce leads the team in rebounding averaging 5.5 boards per game while averaging 9.3 points per game. Senior forward Kobe Stewart is tied for second on the team in rebounding at 4.5 boards per game. Stewart chips in with 7.4 points per game. Harvey averages 8.8 points while connecting on 16 three-point field goals. Senior guard Crosby James has connected on 13 three-point field goals. Freshman guard Kory Mincy has knocked down 14 three-point field goals this season while averaging 6.8 points per game. Scott averages 7.9 points while tying for second on the team averaging 4.5 rebounds per game. Senior guard Trevon Reddish-Rhone averages 5.7 points per game while grabbing 4.4 boards per game. Freshman guard Carl Parrish is one of seven PC players who have connected on double-figure three-point field goals with 12 made threes. As a team, PC is averaging 78.3 points per game while shooting Big South leading 49.1 percent from the field. The Blue Hose defense has limited their opponents to 72.3 points per game.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLES - Two Presbyterian frontcourt players have recorded double-doubles this season. Junior forward Kaleb Scott scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Presbyterian's win over Johnson & Wales (December 30). Junior forward Jonah Pierce scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Tennessee Tech (November 22).
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS - Mincy has been named Big South Freshman of the Week twice (December 11 and December 18). He earned his first Big South Freshman of the Week award on December 11, Mincy scored 11 points, dished out three assists, and grabbed two rebounds against Florida A&M (December 6). He claimed his second Big South Freshman of the Week award on December 18. For the week, he averaged 12 points while shooting 50 percent from the field (9-for-18). He averaged 4.5 assists, two steals, and two rebounds in the two games. He scored 11 points (shooting 4-for-5 from the field) with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in Presbyterian's win over Mid-Atlantic Christian on December 13.
In his first career start, he scored 13 points while dishing out seven assists with two steals against Kennesaw State on December 16. 

Barnett garnered Big South Player of the Week honors (November 20). Barnett is the eighth different Blue Hose player to earn the Big South Men's Basketball Player of the Week award in the program's history. For the week, he averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game in helping lead the Blue Hose to a 3-1 record last week with a home win over The Citadel, a road win at North Florida, and a neutral site win over Northwestern State.
 
PERFECT FROM THE FIELD - Juniors forward Kaleb Scott and guard Jamahri Harvey shot 100 percent from the field in PC's win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13). Scott was 7-for-7 while Harvey was 6-for-6 from the field and 3-for-3 beyond the three-point arc.
 
PAINT TOUCHES - Presbyterian recorded their fifth 50-plus points in the paint scoring game with 60 points in the paint in the win over Johnson & Wales (December 3). The 60 points in the paint against Johnson & Wales marked the most points in the paint in a single game by the Blue Hose since scoring 60 points in the paint at UNC Asheville (February 26, 2022). The Blue Hose posted their fourth 50-plus points in the paint scoring game with 52 points in the paint against Kennesaw State (December 16). PC collected their third 50-plus points in the paint scoring output of the season with a season-high 58 points in the paint in the win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13). The Blue Hose scored 56 points in the paint at Elon (November 27). PC scored 50 points in the paint against CIU (November 9). The Blue Hose average 39.7 points per game in the paint.
 
BENCH POINTS - The Blue Hose behind three double-figure scorers off the bench in the win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13) tallied 55 bench points. The 55 bench points are the most scored by PC since recording 58 points in the win over Allen last season, December 19, 2022. Presbyterian averages 30.5 bench points while having 19 double-figure scoring games off the bench this season.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-CHARLESTON SOUTHERN SERIES
Wednesday's game will be the 39th meeting between Presbyterian and Charleston Southern, who leads the all-time series, 28-10. Charleston Southern defeated Presbyterian, 85-59, at home in their last meeting, February 25, 2023. Trevon Reddish-Rhone led the Blue Hose with 18 points.
 
SCOUTING CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
The Buccaneers have collected wins over Toccoa Falls, Johnson & Wales, South Carolina State, and Kentucky Christian this season. Redshirt sophomore guard RJ Johnson leads CSU in scoring at 16.6 points per game. Junior forward Taje Kelly is second on the team in scoring at 14.6 points per game while grabbing a team-leading 8.5 boards per contest. Sophomore guard A'lahn Sumler (12.1 ppg) and redshirt junior guard DJ Patrick (10.7 ppg) are tied for team-leading connecting on 27 three-point field goals apiece. Charleston Southern averages 70.8 points per game while allowing their opponents to average 76.0 points per game.
