RADFORD, Va. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (9-13, Big South: 1-6) lost 73-58 on the road at the Radford Highlanders (13-9, Big South: 3-4) on Saturday afternoon.
Samage Teel paced the Blue Hose with 17 points.
Trevon Reddish-Rhone tallied 13 points for Presbyterian.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Radford scored the game's first five points.
Kobe Stewart got the Blue Hose on the board with a layup off a
Kaleb Scott assist at the 17:58 mark. The Highlanders increased their lead to 19-8 with 14:26 on the clock. A layup from Reddish-Rhone and two free throws from
Marquis Barnett got the Blue Hose within seven points, 19-12, with 12:31 left in the half. After a layup from
Crosby James with 10:55 on the clock, the Blue Hose trailed 21-14, then Radford scored 10 of the next 12 points taking a 31-16 lead two minutes later. With Radford leading 37-23 with 4:57 on the clock, the Blue Hose went on a 13-4 run capped off with a three from Teel cutting Radford's lead to 41-36 with 1:18 left in the half. Radford scored the final two points of the half taking a 43-36 halftime lead.
SECOND HALF – The Highlanders scored the first five points of the half pushing their lead to 48-36 with a minute and a half gone on the clock. After consecutive layups from Scott and Reddish-Rhone, the Blue Hose cut Radford's lead to 50-42 at the 17:39 mark. The Highlanders scored five straight points pushing their lead back to double-figures and the Blue Hose were never able to get closer to Radford the rest of the game.
NOTES
- Reddish-Rhone tallied his sixth double-digit scoring game of the season and the 36th of his career with his 13 points.
- Teel collected his 16th double-figure scoring game of the season with his 17 points.
