LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose fell to the Charleston Southern Buccaneers earlier this week with a final score of 61-57 after a close final minute of play. The Blue Hose were trailing by 14 in the fourth quarter, when they went on a 12-1 run to get back into the game. Tilda Sjokvist tied her career-high scoring record after dropping 26 points while shooting 58.8% (10-of-17) from the field and 62.5% (5-of-8) from outside the arc.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
UNC Asheville has a 6-8 record with wins over Tennessee State, Queens, Warren Wilson, Western Carolina, UNC Greensboro, and Brevard. The Bulldogs average 60.0 points per game and 38.6 rebounds per game. Redshirt senior guard McKinley Brooks-Sumpter leads the team with 12.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and a 33.3 FG%. Junior guard Lalmani Simmons averages 11.1 ppg while shooting 38.5% from the field and 30.8% from range.
 
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE FIGURE SCORERS
Over their first 16 games, Presbyterian has already had nine different players who have scored in double-figures. Brady (11 times), Sjökvist (10 times), Neira (six times), Kierscht (three times), Cunill (twice), Carrillo (once), Kline (once), Kindseth (once), and Herrin (once) have all tallied double-digit scoring games this season.
 
PRESBYTERIAN – UNC ASHEVILLE SERIES
Saturday marks the 34th time that these two teams have met since Presbyterian joined Division I in 2007. The first time that these two teams met was in the 2007-08 season where the Bulldogs won 87-54. The last time we saw action between the two teams was last season where the Blue Hose won 76-73. UNC Asheville leads the all-time series between the two teams with a 16-17 record.

As a team, Presbyterian leads the conference with 13.2 assists per game, a +3.0-rebounding margin, and a 0.7 assist to turnover ratio. The team is also ranked second for shooting at 39.1% from the field and 30.0% from outside the arc. Individually, the Blue Hose have three players who are ranked in the top 10 in scoring Brady is ranked sixth for her 12.9 ppg, Sjokvist is listed at seventh with 12.2 ppg, and Neira is in ninth her with 11.8 ppg. Sjokvist is also ranked third for averaging 3.1 apg and sixth for her 1.9 three-point field goals per game. Neira is currently third in the Big South with an average of 2.3 three-point field goals per game and Ashley Carrillo is ranked sixth for her 2.6 apg.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Presbyterian beat the Columbia College Koalas 62-53 on Sunday, December 31. Brady scored a new season-high of 27 points while shooting 73.3% (11-of-15) from the field. She also shot 62.5% (5-of-8) from the free throw line and dished out two assists. Defensively, Brady helped the team hold the Koalas to no points for almost 11 minutes in the second half. She added four rebounds and a block to her efforts. This is the second time that Brady earned this award and the fourth Big South Player of the Week award that the Blue Hose have received so far this season.
