Presbyterian Picks Up Big South Road Win Over Radford

RADFORD, Va. – Damorney Hutchinson contributed on all three Presbyterian goals with two goals and an assist as the Blue Hose (4-3-1, Big South: 1-1) defeated the Radford Highlanders (0-10-1, Big South: 0-3-0), 3-2, on the road on Saturday afternoon.

"I am proud of our guys for getting a road win this afternoon after overcoming a lot of adversity this week," Finotti said. "We got our first win in the Big South. We can take a lot of positives from this game."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the 22nd minute, Presbyterian got on the board when Hutchinson beat a couple of Radford defenders and blasted a shot into the lower right corner of the goal.
  • In the 34th minute, Hutchinson passed the ball from the right side of the box to Jonas Sundli-Hardig in the center at the top of the box. Sundli-Hardig passed to Morgan Dance on the left side of the box. Dance blasted a shot into the upper left corner of the goal—this marked Dance's first goal of the season.
  • In the 43rd minute, Radford cut PC's lead in half when Cam Lamptey scored.
  • With 58 seconds left in the first half, Radford's Joep de Bruin converted on a penalty kick tying the score at two.
  • In the 66th minute, the Blue Hose regained the lead for good with another strong buildup. Sandro Rabarivony crossed the ball from just outside the right side of the box to Gabe Carvalho near the left post. Carvalho passed the ball to Hutchinson in front of the goal who put the ball into the right lower corner of the goal. Hutchinson's goal was his seventh of the season and the 14th of his Presbyterian career.
 
NOTABLES
  • After Dance's goal, the Blue Hose have had 13 different players score goals this season.
  • Presbyterian goalkeeper Loan Marin recorded a season-high tying seven saves which included two big acrobatic saves in the final 10 minutes of the contest.
  • For the third time this season and the fourth time in his Presbyterian career, Hutchinson tallied two goals in a game.
