The Presbyterian Blue Hose travel back to Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Wednesday night to play the Winthrop Eagles in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday, Presbyterian defeated Winthrop, 5-2, on the road in their final regular-season game to clinch a spot in the Big South Tournament. Freshman midfielder Morgan Dance and senior forward Damorney Hutchinson scored goals in the first 21 minutes giving the Blue Hose a 2-0 lead. Winthrop scored two unanswered goals tying the score at two. Then, sophomore midfielder Sandro Rabarivony scored two goals giving the Blue Hose the lead for good. Senior midfielder Carson Griffith finished the scoring with a penalty kick goal. 

BIG SOUTH TOURNAMENT
The Blue Hose, the sixth seed, are making their eighth appearance in the Big South Conference Tournament. Presbyterian won the 2017 Big South Tournament title after defeating Campbell and topping Radford and High Point on penalty kicks. Presbyterian and Winthrop have played twice in the Big South Tournament. Presbyterian beat Winthrop, 2-1, in double overtime in the 2019 Tournament. Winthrop topped Presbyterian, 3-0, in the 2021 Big South Tournament.

NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After his prolific goal-scoring week, Hutchinson was named TopDrawerSoccer's National Player of the Week on September 17. Hutchinson is the first player in the program's history to garner National Player of the Week accolades. He was also named to TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week becoming the sixth player in Presbyterian's Division I era to claim National Team of the Week honors. Hutchinson scored four goals leading the Blue Hose to wins over Coastal Carolina and VMI to earn the awards.

BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
On September 16, Hutchinson captured Big South Offensive Player of the Week honors, and freshman midfielder Jonas Sundli-Hardig was the league's Freshman of the Week. Hutchinson was the third player in the program's history to earn Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. Sundli-Hardig was the tenth player in school history to be named Big South Freshman of the Week.

On October 7, Hutchinson was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week again. Dance claimed the Big South Freshman of the Week award. Hutchinson is the first player in the program's history to capture multiple Big South Offensive Player of the Week awards in the same season. Dance is the 11th player in school history named Big South Freshman of the Week.

On November 4, Rabarivony captured Big South Offensive Player of the Week accolades. Rabarivony is the fourth different player in the program's history to claim that award. Sundli-Hardig was the league's Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. He is the third player in school history to earn multiple Big South Freshman of the Week awards.
