THOUGHTS FROM COACH NICK FINOTTI
"Winthrop made some adjustments from our game this past Saturday," Presbyterian coach Nick Finotti said. "It took us a little bit to adjust to those changes. Once we did, we were very good. In the second half, we created a lot of good scoring chances. I am super proud of our guys."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the 7th minute, Winthrop took an early 1-0 lead behind a goal from Ethan Marks off a Borris Nguelle assist.
  • In the second half, the Blue Hose kept forcing the action pressing for the equalizer. In the 67th minute, Presbyterian tied the score at one behind a beautiful build-up. Hutchinson began the scoring play with a well-timed pass to Morgan Dance streaking down the left side of the field. Dance passed the ball to the center of the box to Rabarivony, who tapped the ball into the back of the net from eight yards out after a great run.
  • Less than two minutes later the Blue Hose took a lead that they wouldn't relinquish. In the 68th minute, Jonas Sundli-Hardig got the ball just inside the box, he passed to Damian McGregor-Wickham on the right side of the box. McGregor-Wickham crossed the ball to Hutchinson at the far post. Hutchinson blasted the ball into the upper right corner of the net giving the Blue Hose a 2-1 lead.
