SAN JUAN, P.R. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team (1-11) stayed right with the Montana State Bobcats (9-2) for a majority of the game, behind
Kishyah Anderson's 21 points, but ultimately fell 57-40.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
Montana State opened the game with the first four points, before
Kishyah Anderson put the Blue Hose on the board. A three-pointer from the other side answered, but once again Anderson's jumper landed. Kindseth's layup added to PC's tally, but Montana State held a 12-6 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
Second Quarter
With buckets from Anderson and
Shelby Fiddler early in the second quarter, the Blue Hose cut their deficit to 12-10. The opponents answered with four points of their own, but Presbyterian went on to take five of the next seven points led by a three-point play by
Natalie Herrin. After almost three scoreless minutes, the Bobcats took a pair of layups to extend their lead. Fiddler drew a late foul and sank both of her free throws, but Montana State led 22-17 at the end of the first half.
Third Quarter
A pair of free throws by the Bobcats opened the second half. Anderson's jumper and Fiddler's triple brought Presby within one basket. Montana State answered with a three of their own, but Anderson added a jumper to send us to the media timeout at 27-24. A pair of three-point baskets extended the Bobcats lead, giving them a 37-29 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Montana State opened the final quarter strong, taking seven unanswered points. Danielle Velez ended their streak with a layup, but a triple from the Bobcats brought their cushion to 47-31. A trade of scores saw nine points from Anderson, but in the end the Bobcats walked away with a 57-40 victory.
NOTABLES
- Anderson finished with 21 points, her second 20 plus point game this season. She also added an impressive five steals and three blocks.
- Fiddler recorded seven points and two rebounds.
- Kindseth took 10 rebounds, four points, and a pair of steals.
