Blue Hose Drop Battle with Queens

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team (0-8) was unable to pick up the win against the Queens Royals (4-3) after a final score of 60-47.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
The Royals took seven points while holding Presbyterian to two points in the first quarter.
 
Second Quarter
Kishyah Anderson's pullup jumper gave PC the first points of the second quarter. Queens answered, scoring the next 15 points, jumping ahead to a 22-4 lead. Sonia Sato broke the Royal's streak with a layup, but the opponents held a 25-6 advantage. Aminata Tal and Kindseth added buckets, but Queens closed out the first half with a 30-14 lead.
 
Third Quarter
The first four points of the second half went to Queens, before Sato put the Blue Hose on the board with a contested layup. Over the next few minutes, Anderson and Shelby Fiddler each hit a three-pointer, but the Royals led 46-26 after three quarters.
 
Fourth Quarter
Queens opened the fourth quarter with the first two field goals, but Laney Scoggins answered with four points of her own, which included an impressive three-point play. Not long after Natalie Herrin hit a three while Anderson followed with a layup, but the score stood at 54-35 at the media timeout. With under four minutes in regulation, Anderson notched another triple before her and Herrin each took layups. The opponents answered with four points, but Aminata Tal hit four-straight free throws while Herrin added a layup, but PC's effort in the fourth quarter wasn't enough as Queens walked away with a 60-47 win.
 
NOTABLES
- Anderson's 16 points marked her fifth double-figure scoring game of the season.
- Kindseth totaled 11 rebounds, tying her career-high.
- Fiddler added three steals which marked her best at PC and tied her career-high at Niagara.



UP NEXT
The Blue Hose have eight days off before their next outing which will be on Wednesday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. against the NC Central Eagles in Durham, North Carolina.
