PC Earns a Pair of Wins Over St. Peter’s Behind 5 Homers

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (3-0) beat the St. Peter's Peacocks (0-3) in both games of Saturday's double header behind five total home runs. With a 16-6 score in game #1, followed by a 16-1 score in game #2.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE
- Presbyterian struck first when Brody Fahr hit an RBI triple in the first inning, sending Noah Lebron home. Not long after Joel Dragoo sent Fahr home to give PC a 2-0 lead.
- Jack Gorman kept Presby's momentum going with a home run to lead off the bottom of the second inning.
- Lebron doubled down the left field line to send in two RBI's.
- With Lebron on third, Joel Dragoo hit a dinger to left field to put two more on the board for PC.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Rhogue Wallace hit his first home run of the year to give the Blue Hose an 8-0 lead.
- With Charlie McDaniel still holding the Peacocks to zero runs on the mound, Presbyterian continued to increase their lead in the bottom of the fifth.
- With the bases loaded Lebron walked to first bringing Gorman home.
- While three were still on base, Fahr hit a sacrifice fly to right field which brought Jay Wetherington in for a run.
- Eli Lazio scored on a wild pitch, before Ryan Ouzts hit an RBI single before end of the inning with the Blue Hose in front 12-0.
- St. Peter's got on the board for the first time in the top of the sixth inning where they scored two runs.
- With bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning for PC, Lebron was hit by a pitch bringing Gorman home.
- With three still on base, Fahr hit a single up the middle which brought Jake Randolph in for another Blue Hose run.
- Dragoo drew a walk bringing Evan Cuervo home.
- Holden Baker grounded out to second base, but was able to bring Lebron home to make the score 16-2.
- St. Peter's racked up four more runs in the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough to stop the Blue Hose from winning 16-6.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWO
- With runners on second and third in the bottom of the first inning, Dragoo hit a sacrifice fly to right field which sent Lebron home.
- Not long after Ouzts hit a ground out to the shortstop, he got an RBI for getting Fahr around the bases.
- The Peacocks picked up their first and only run of the game in the top of the third inning.
- With the bases loaded, Ouzts knocked one over center field for a Blue Hose grand slam.
- Ryan Becker reached first on a fielder's choice while Gorman still made it home to put Presbyterian up 7-1.
- Before the end of the inning, Lazio made it around the bases after an RBI single from Fahr.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Gorman hit an RBI triple to right center.
- Not much later Becker singled to right field to get Gorman home and put PC up 10-1.
- To begin the fifth inning, Lebron doubled to left center before Fahr hit an RBI single down the right field line.
- The Blue Hose capped off the day with five more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with RBI's from Fahr (two), Dragoo (two), and Becker.
- The last two runs of the game were scored on a homer from Dragoo.

- Joel Dragoo has hit three home runs in PC's first three games of the season.
- Ryan Ouzts' grand slam in game #2 marked his first homer of the season.
- Rhogue Wallace marked his first homer of the season of game #1 on the day.
- Jack Gorman hit his first longball of the year in game #2 today.
- Charlie McDaniel pitched an immaculate inning in the top of the fifth with his nine pitches and nine strikes.
