The Blue Hose lost to the Longwood Lancers, 81-73, at the Templeton Center on Saturday afternoon. Junior guard Marquis Barnett led the Blue Hose with 22 points while dishing out five assists with three steals. Senior guard Kobe Stewart scored 12 points. Junior guard Samage Teel tallied 10 points off the bench. Senior guard Trevon Reddish-Rhone scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
 
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBER – Barnett leads the team in scoring averaging 15.0 points per game while grabbing 4.5 rebounds and distributing 2.7 assists per game. Barnett leads the Big South and ranks 31st in the nation in steals per game averaging 1.9 steals per contest with 54 steals. Teel is second on the team in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game while dishing out 2.6 assists per game. Teel has connected on a team-leading 45 three-point field goals. Junior forward Jonah Pierce leads the team in rebounding averaging 5.0 boards per game while averaging 7.7 points per game. Stewart is second on the team in rebounding at 4.6 boards per game. Stewart chips in with 7.9 points per game while connecting on 29 threes. Junior guard Jamahri Harvey averages 8.2 points while connecting on 19 three-point field goals. Senior guard Crosby James has connected on 28 three-point field goals. Freshman guard Kory Mincy has knocked down 22 three-point field goals this season while averaging 5.8 points per game. Junior forward Kaleb Scott averages 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Reddish-Rhone averages 4.1 boards per game while averaging 6.6 points per game. Freshman guard Carl Parrish is one of seven PC players who have connected on double-figure three-point field goals with 13 made threes. As a team, PC is averaging 75.3 points per game. Presbyterian ranks 25th in the nation in bench points averaging 28.5 points per game from the bench and 49th in the nation averaging 13.2 fastbreak points per game
 
BIG SOUTH LEADER IN FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE - Presbyterian leads the Big South Conference and ranks 36th in the nation in field goal percentage shooting 47.6 percent (758-of-1594) from the field. This season, Presbyterian has had 11 games shooting 50 percent or higher from the field. The Blue Hose shot a season-high 69.8 percent from the field in a win over Mid-Atlantic Christian on December 13. The Blue Hose shot 54.9 percent from the field in the win over Radford (February 10).
 
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS - In 28 games, Presbyterian has had ten different players score in double-figures. Barnett (23 times), Teel (21 times), Stewart (ten times), Harvey (nine times), Pierce (eight times), Reddish-Rhone (eight times), Scott (eight times), Mincy (five times), James (five times), and Parrish (twice) have all recorded double digit scoring games this season.
 
BENCH POINTS - The Blue Hose behind three double-figure scorers off the bench in the win over Mid-Atlantic Christian (December 13) tallied 55 bench points. The 55 bench points are the most scored by PC since recording 58 points in the win over Allen last season, December 19, 2022. Presbyterian has had 33 double-figure scoring games off the bench while averaging 28.5 bench points per game.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his fifth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-WINTHROP SERIES
Wednesday's game will be the 37th meeting between Presbyterian and Winthrop, who leads the series 33-13. Winthrop has won the last 10 games between the two teams including an 81-71 win at Presbyterian earlier this season, January 10. Teel led four Blue Hose double-figure scorers with 13 points in that game. Winthrop defeated PC at home in their last meeting at Winthrop on January 4, 2023, 82-72.
