CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (4-2) posted two doubles wins and four singles victories in a 5-2 win over the Queens Royals (1-4) at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. The win was Presbyterian's third straight.
DOUBLES
The Blue Hose with victories at number one and three doubles captured the doubles point for the third time this year. Queens posted a win at number two doubles. At number one doubles, Presbyterian's
Javier Matos and
Denim Yadav recorded a 6-4 win over Queens's Connor Enslin and Laurenz Blickwede. At number three doubles, Presbyterian's
Pedro Cardoso and
Evgenios Vasilakis defeated Queens's Filippo Verdese and Griffin Lovern, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point for PC.
SINGLES
Presbyterian won four singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number six singles, Presbyterian's
David Mamalat gave the Blue Hose a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Queens's Griffin Lovern. Queens cut Presbyterian's lead in half with a win at number three singles. At number one singles, Presbyterian's Matos outlasted Queens's Win Steveker, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, to give the Blue Hose a 3-1 lead. Queens won at number two singles. At number four singles, Presbyterian's Yadav defeated Queens's Enslin in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. At number five singles, Presbyterian's Cardoso defeated Queens's Verdese, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6) to close out the match.
