LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose fell to the High Point Panthers last week despite 11 lead changes and nine tied scores. Presbyterian was up by one point going into the fourth quarter, but ended up losing by just five-points. Three Blue Hose players scored double figure digits, Mara Neira led the team with 16 points, Natalie Herrin totaled 12 points, and Bryanna Brady added 11 points, hitting her 1000th career point late in the game.
 
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb has a 3-18 record with wins over Appalachian State, Presbyterian, and Longwood. The Runnin' Bulldogs average 59.9 points per game and 35.7 rebounds per game. Junior guard Ashley Hawkins leads the team with 14.8 ppg and 5.5 apg. Freshman guard Lauren Bailey averages 8.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 0.6 spg.
 
BLUE HOSE DOUBLE FIGURE SCORERS
Over their first 24 games, Presbyterian has had nine different players who have scored in double-figures. Brady (17 times), Sjökvist (15 times), Neira (12 times), Herrin (five times), Kierscht (three times), Cunill (three times), Kindseth (twice), Kline (twice), and Carrillo (once) have all tallied double-digit scoring games this season.
 
PRESBYTERIAN – GARDNER-WEBB SERIES
Wednesday marks the 33rd time that these two teams have seen action since Presbyterian joined the Division I rank in 2007. Earlier in the season Gardner-Webb beat PC with a score of 72-58. The Runnin' Bulldogs lead the all-time series 17-16.
 
BIG SOUTH STAT LEADERS
As a team, Presbyterian leads the conference with 13.5 assists per game, a 0.8 assist to turnover ratio, and a +3.0-rebounding margin. The team is ranked second for their    -2.3-scoring margin. Individually, the Blue Hose have three players who are ranked in the top 10 for scoring, Sjokvist is in tenth with 12.0 ppg, Neira is ranked ninth for her 12.2 ppg, and Brady is listed at seventh with 12.4 ppg. Sjokvist is also ranked third for averaging 3.3 apg. Neira leads the league with an average of 2.4 three-point field goals per game.
 
THE 1000 POINT CLUB
On Wednesday, January 10 Presbyterian beat the Winthrop Eagles with a score of 59-43. With 2:05 left in this game junior Mara Neira scored a three-point shot which was the 1000th point of her collegiate career. Later in the season the Blue Hose hosted the High Point Panthers for the team's breast cancer awareness game. Sixth year center Bryanna Brady scored her 1000th career point with 2:45 left in the game.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Presbyterian beat the Columbia College Koalas 62-53 on Sunday, December 31. Brady scored a new season-high of 27 points while shooting 73.3% (11-of-15) from the field. She also shot 62.5% (5-of-8) from the free throw line and dished out two assists. Defensively, Brady helped the team hold the Koalas to no points for almost 11 minutes in the second half. She added four rebounds and a block to her efforts. This is the second time that Brady earned this award and the fourth Big South Player of the Week award that the Blue Hose have received so far this season.
