The Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-4) play the South Carolina State Bulldogs (2-4) at the Templeton Tennis Courts this Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m.
Presbyterian's Big South opener on the road at Gardner-Webb that was scheduled for Friday, March 1 has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather. The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m.
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Pedro Cardoso and
David Mamalat are tied for the team lead with six wins apiece.
Javier Matos has recorded five wins all at number one singles.
Denim Yadav has collected four singles wins this season. The doubles teams of Matos and Yadav lead the team with four wins all at the number one spot.
LAST TIME OUT
Presbyterian defeated Tennessee Tech, 5-2, on the road this past Sunday. PC claimed the doubles point for the fifth time this season.
Evgenios Vasilakis, Matos, Mamalat, and Cardoso tallied singles wins.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Cardoso has earned Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors twice on February 7 and February 28. For the sixth time in the program's history, a Blue Hose player has earned multiple Big South Player of the Week awards in the same season.
Evgenios Vasilakis was named Big South Freshman of the Week this week. He is the 17
th player in the program's history to earn the award.
PRESBYTERIAN-SOUTH CAROLINA STATE SERIES
Presbyterian has won four of the last five meetings including the last two between the two teams. Matos and Mamalat posted singles wins in last season's 5-0 road win at South Carolina State on April 2, 2023.
