Blue Hose Play Two Nationally-Ranked Foes This Weekend

The Presbyterian Blue Hose (6-8) travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to play No. 70 Charlotte (11-6) and No. 51 Rice (12-6) this weekend. First the Blue Hose play at the Charlotte 49ers on Friday, March 29 at 2 p.m. Then, the Blue Hose conclude the weekend's competition against the Rice Owls at Charlotte's Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex this Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Pedro Cardoso and Evgenios Vasilakis collected singles wins but the Blue Hose lost to Gardner-Web, 5-2, on the road on March 19. 

BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Cardoso leads the team with ten singles wins. David Mamalat has recorded eight wins. Javier Matos has collected seven wins all at number one singles. Denim Yadav has posted five singles wins this season. The doubles teams of Matos and Yadav lead the team with five wins.

BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Matos was named Big South Player of the Week on March 20. Cardoso has garnered the award twice on February 7 and February 28.

Vasilakis has claimed two Big South Freshman of the Week awards on February 28 and March 20.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
Friday's match will be the 11th meeting between Presbyterian and Charlotte, who leads the series 8-2. In last year's match, Charlotte defeated PC, 5-2, at home. Matos collected a straight sets win at number five singles in that match.  Vasco Prata leads Charlotte with 11 wins with victories coming at number three, four, five and six singles. Coy Simon is second on the team with 10 wins with victories at number four, five and six singles.

SCOUTING RICE
Saturday's match will be the first ever meeting between Presbyterian and Rice. Kabeer Kapasi leads the Owls with 12 wins with the majority of those victories coming at number six singles. Emir Sendogan and Trinity Grear are tied for second on the team with nine wins.
