The Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-13, Big South: 2-2) begin defense of their 2023 Big South Tournament title against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs (14-7, Big South: 3-1) in the semifinals of the Big South Championship at the Marion Diehl Tennis Center in Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday, April 20 at noon. Gardner-Webb (18-3, Big South: 4-0) and Longwood (8-7, Big South: 1-3) play in the other semifinal match. The winners advance to the Big South Championship match on Sunday, April 21 at noon.

BIG SOUTH TITLES
Presbyterian has captured three Big South Tournament titles in 2017, 2021 and 2023. PC has reached the Big South Championship match six times in the program's history: 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2023.

David Mamalat were Second Team All-Big South Singles selections. The doubles duo of Mamalat and freshman

Yadav was named to the Big South All-Academic team.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
Vasilakis earned the Big South Freshman of the Week award four times: February 28, March 20, April 10, and April 17.

Cardoso claimed Big South Player of the Week honors twice this season on February 7 and February 28. Matos was named Big South Player of the Week on March 20.Â
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Mamalat and Cardoso are tied for the team lead with 10 wins apiece. Mamalat has picked up wins on courts two, four, five, and six this season. Cardoso's wins have come at number three, four, five and six. Vasilakis is third on the team with eight wins including a perfect 4-0 mark against Big South competition. Matos and Yadav have collected seven wins apiece this season. All of Matos's wins have come at number one singles. Yadav's wins have come at number three and four singles.

The doubles tandem of Matos and Yadav lead the team with six wins. The doubles teams of Cardoso and Vasilakis have posted five wins. The Blue Hose have captured the doubles point nine times this season.

UNC ASHEVILLE
The Bulldogs have won two of their last three matches which includes a 5-2 win at Presbyterian on April 8.

Freddy Murray leads UNC Asheville with 15 wins with the majority of them coming on court one. Jon Brann Reid is second on the team with 14 wins with the majority of those victories coming at number three singles.

GARDNER-WEBB
The Runnin' Bulldogs enter the tournament on a six-match winning streak which includes a 5-2 home win over Presbyterian on March 19.

Eduardo Dias leads Gardner-Webb with a 19-1 record with all the wins coming at the number one position. Kim Niethammer is second on the team with 17 wins all of them coming on court four. Numa Lemieux-Monette is third on the team with 15 wins all the wins coming at number two singles.Â

LONGWOOD
The Lancers enter the tournament having won two straight matches. Presbyterian defeated Longwood, 6-1, at home their regular season meeting on March 17.

Alejandro Uribe leads the Lancers with 10 wins coming on courts two, three and four. Petar Bolosevic, Timeo Puech, and Luis Reis are tied for second on the team with seven wins apiece.
